Lyrics:
She is a Liar.
Words and music by Demetrius P. Hill. © 2006 Demetrius P. Hill. All rights reserved.
She’s the kinda girl you just can’t keep for yourself.
You’ll turn your back and she’ll be cuddled-up with somebody else.
She doesn’t even care if it gets back to me.
And gets away with it cause she’s as fine as can be.
She is so wide open. And she’s got me goin’.
The truth ain’t in her, no, can’t you see?
She is a liar. Pants are on fire. She is a liar can’t you see that?
She’s the kinda girl that knows exactly what she’s got.
But if you’re thinkin’ she’s sweet, that’s exactly what she’s not.
She’s only with you as long as she gets what she needs.
And doesn’t care if she hurts you or makes you bleed.
She is so wide open. And she’s got me goin’.
The truth ain’t in her, no, can’t you see?
She is a liar. Pants are on fire. She is a liar can’t you see that?
I have no idea what went wrong but I only blame myself.
Cause I knew she was shady when I met her.
And if I were to leave her now I doubt she’d miss me this I know for sure.
But the next time around I’ll know better.
She is a liar. Pants are on fire.
She is a liar. Pants are on fire.
I said she is a liar. Her pants are on fire.
She is a liar. I can’t be without her.
Can’t you see that?
She is a liar. Her pants are on fire.
She is a liar. Can’t be without her.
Can’t you see that?

That Was Quick &mdash 11/07/07 - 09:15:04 PM
I literally just finished listening to the first version of this song. Clicked the back button and saw this title at the top of your song list. Just had to listen to this one too.
Those guitars are definitely up there! The backing vocals sound real good. And yeah, that riff takes me all the way back to MTV circa 1986 with the Moon-Man.
I like the mix. Everything sounds so good! I'm curious as to how you achieved the sound of your guitars. Are you effecting it before it gets into GB or are you using a GB effect only?
When I use the GB distortion (Glam or Classic Rock) I get alot of extra noise...drives me nuts. I did not hear any noise on your tracks. You must tell me the secret of your success!! [ Reply to This ]
Now THAT was quick! &mdash 11/07/07 - 10:03:57 PM
I was gonna say that to you. I just posted this song and you left a comment before I even listened to it. Thanks for your thoughts. As for the guitar sound, I plug into my ibook G4 via an M-Audio Fast track and am live micing a Fender Squier Telecaster through the tiny Squier SP-10 practice amp that came with it. (100 bucks at a going-out-of-business sale for the guitar/amp package). And it's the most versatile, fastest-action, best sounding guitar I own. Who'd a thunk it! Any who, I'm using the one overdrive FX on the amp and that's it on guitar one. For guitar two I copied the track, chopped it up and used the Clean Jazz fx in Garageband. It was the first effect that made the two guitars sound distinct when panned left and right. And that's it! No hours of tweaking. If I start that I lose the grove, so I gotta get it down fast. For these quick rock and roll songs I really try to keep it simple and raw. As for noise –– take what the defense gives you. When you turn up the level and the nosie starts creeping in - stop right there where it's clean. If you need more volume, just double the track. Trust me, I'm no pro. Just a nut making music in his bedroom. But through trial and error I've managed to consistenly recreate a couple of bass, guitar, and vocal tones that work for my music. It's hit or miss so when you find something you're happy with, write down what you used and how you did it. Hope this helps and thanks for listening. [ Reply to This ]
