Description
I put on an old John Lee Hooker record that's out of print and it moved me to pull my mic out and sing this one. My take on the old classic, Crawlin' Kingsnake.

Sweet sounding Taylor
How did you record the guitar? Very natural and warm
sounding recording. Nice picking and singing.

Thanks! Pretty random actually - used a large condensor microphone, positioned it about 2 ft. or so from the where the neck meets the body of the guitar, hit record and started singing and playing. I had to compress (hard limiter) to bring the volume of the guitar up near the vocals because I generally sing as loud as a baboon in heat. Oh, and remember to turn off the fan above the stove in the kitchen.

out of print?
hmmm.

i'm not sure i enjoyed this....it started out ok but then the guitar seemed to be on another planet from your vocals. ya know what i'm saying?

not bad though. my blues guitar isnt as fancy as yours thats for sure. but i would say that i think if you slowed down and got more into the notes youre playing it might seem more cohesive to me.

with a grain of salt eh?

thanks for the new version of this song.

Nice warm voice
I would like to have such a voice. That would
enhance my own blues pieces.
Il really love this old fashioned guitar picking.
