Description:
Composed by Engelbert Humperdinck, born September 1, 1854 – September 27, 1921) was a German composer, best known for his opera, Hänsel und Gretel (1893). Humperdinck was born at Siegburg, in the Rhine provinces.
While in Berlin, Humperdinck began work on Hänsel und Gretel after his sister asked him to compose music for a play for her children in 1890. He first started to compose Hänsel und Gretel, based on the fairy tale by the Brothers Grimm, as a Singspiel consisting of a play with 16 songs and piano accompaniment. A few months later, he presented his fiancée Hedwig Taxer with Hänsel und Gretel as an engagement present.

I worked on this in Logic Express8, which I find fun and now Logical!

I've always loved this composition, and you've done a beautiful and sensitive rendition of it!

Lovely sound quality of the strings, especially.
I'm so glad that you continue to post these classical pieces, Scotty.

Thank you :)

Thanks everybody... &mdash 11/11/07 - 08:07:57 PM
Humperdinck of course is responsible for such
smooth voice/instrumental lines. I had fun with this one.
The new Logic Express 8 had just arrived and with such
excitement I found myself tweaking like mad. It is now
a lot of fun to use and I can get to what I need. Then there are
always nice surprises along the way. So as usual thanks for the interest
in my projects as it means a lot from some special people who
do great work on Macjams. Enough virtual symphony for awhile
here. I hope to push myself to compose more in the near future of
some new sounds.

OK - what's your secret with the realistic strings? That's got to be one of my biggest frustrations with GarageBand. This piece is just absolutely stunning.

When listen to your tunes &mdash 03/03/08 - 08:37:03 PM
I get entertained like I do when I am at itunes with all the guys that make the big bucks. Maybe more because you add the best and most interesting narratives on your compositions and arrangements.

Thanks for sharing.

Now this really took my breath. Such a sad, full of feelings piece is this. The composition with your performance is simply gorgeous. I'm truly impressed and out of words.... a true masterpiece!

Take Care
