Keywords:
Center (1)Josh (10)Pain (57)Free (46)Love (983)
Description:
An ode to a member of my immediate family, struggling with some impossibly difficult issues that prevent him from being able to sleep. Based on my mixing abilities, or lack thereof, this song is best heard through headphones...

Lyrics:
Take my heart so it can bleed
And take my eyes it's hard to see
But hear the calls that breath belief
Into the lines we've learned to read
In between

Smiles mask what lies beneath
Two parts sadness one part grief
But without fear there is no courage
So I'll take my heart back, let it bleed
Hear you me

To ease your pain, to free your life
To fight the fears, to make it right
Incessant when, release the why
Find you a way, to sleep tonight
And in the center is your...

I will remain, to get you back to right
Release your pain, into the night
We will sustain, your hearts unending cries
To ease your pain
Never say goodbye

To ease your pain, to free your life
To wipe the tears, to make it right
Incessant when, release why
Find you a way to sleep tonight
And in the center is your

To ease your pain, to free your life
To wipe the tears, to make it right
Incessant when, there is no why
(There is a dawn/To fight the dawn), the sun will rise (2x)

And in the center is your love (2x)

And in the center is your...(3x)

Work in progress... &mdash 11/16/07 - 09:09:17 AM
Kind of looking for suggestions on instrumentation and mix, I still have some clean-up to do on the vocals...
This song is kind of special to me. It's easy to write songs about yourself, but much harder to write those about people close to you.

I really love your voice. This is a very dramatic, sad song - full of heartfelt emotion ending with much hope. Very clever lyrics. Awesome job throughout! Thanks for sharing this.

Intimate authentic honesty &mdash 11/16/07 - 10:20:24 AM
The only thing: You could boost the volume. Fabulous performance, recorded capture of a fine moment. Great live mic stuff.

Moving beautifully. &mdash 11/16/07 - 12:51:54 PM
Lots of great elements going on here.A very emotionally moving song that needs no further mixing, just a master volume boost.Perhaps a second guitar or a bass to compliment the drums parts and give it some added depth and dimension. While listening I can hear other sounds going on here to compliment what you've already done, but certainly is good as is.Well done and much enjoyed.

Blessings,

power &mdash 11/16/07 - 06:40:18 PM
You have such power in you voice and performance. Your strength lies in the way you control it. You are a master of timing. You know where to use it at the right places. Great dynamic that keep this interesting all the way.

the talented one... &mdash 11/18/07 - 07:17:22 PM
your feelings captured in tone here, i'm sure are heart felt by your immediate family as well as the friends around you. God didnt give me the ability to transform my thoughts into beautiful music as he did for you, but every once in a while he grants me the strength to step forward and say something really truthful. Your one of the best men that i know. I thank you for your thoughts, your words, your music.

Excellent music &mdash 11/18/07 - 11:24:10 PM
you have such a focused energy in your voice, I was immediately pulled into the lyrics. The syntax was a bit distracting at first, like Yoda, but that grew on me, too. Guitar was great. The addition of drums was welcome at that point in the song - maybe add bass also at that point for grounding. The beginning was a bit quiet, but your use of dynamic range would preclude simply turning up the master volume. I'd boost vocals a bit at the beginning, and end up at the same volume you're at at the end. (I'm listening on headphones.)
