Description:
As with all of my other songs, this was recorded this past summer at my brother's studio and I have not had a chance to record any new songs since then.
If you will, imagine after a long day, sitting down to wind down and think about nothing but calm breathing. Look outside and watch the trees sway, or the clouds moving, or the birds singing, just watch nature being nature.
God's Grace is upon you. Hope you enjoy this one. Be well!

Lyrics:
It is the time to be thankful
for the blessings we receive
Tell your significant other
you are glad that they dont leave
The air we breathe, the food we eat
The friends that never leave

Sorry about the lyrics....I was making up some more thoughts and actually meant to delete all of that. Ooops, my bad.

Trickle of Grace &mdash 11/20/07 - 10:56:08 AM
its the theme of thinking
for the blessings we embraced
Tell the world to slumber
your glance for abony and ivory
the air the magic of the sphere
the piano that never leave !

thank you for sharing !

A pregnant pause... &mdash 11/20/07 - 11:13:45 AM
...as we sit quite still and reflect...watching the images of our lives (as if projected on a screen) floating by...scanning for meaning...scanning for love...and---with a heart overflowing with gratitude---finding it...

Well done Gail.

my favorite... &mdash 11/20/07 - 12:08:17 PM
my favorite holiday is Thanksgiving, and this is a sweet addition to the time of year. The music and your performance seem appropriately slow and thoughtful. Unfortunately the piano-synth used has a noticeably "synthy-muddy-non-piano-sound" to the low-midrange notes. But the right-hand sounds very clear and pretty. We just GOTTA get your keyboard hooked up to your computer and get you recording new stuff! I think it would be good for you too (except for the initial hurdle of getting everything set up and working.)

I'm not sure why you would want to delete your thoughts from the lyrics section, very heartfelt and lovely thoughts... oh, and you can count me as one of your "friends who never leave." :-)

Happy Thanksgiving, and thank you for sharing this beautiful gift of your music!

ttfn,
Drakonis

Thank you for never leaving! I hear what you are saying and who knows.....Santa may come and visit me this year and take care of that little problem. (No-not the brain problems) but the recording problems! I thank you so much for always encouraging me and trying to help me continue with my music. You are such a delightful dragon to have around! Blessings to you and yours!

very touching.I was picturing all the mountains behind my house speeded up with the clouds sweeping past and shafts of sunlight sweeping across the valleys.

Great for meditation & spirituality

I wish I could write music like you. You should be doing it full time, or at least part time. That's what you were meant to do.

Good to see you here. Thank you for stopping by and leaving your very kind comments. I believe that this was recorded on an Ensoniq keyboard, but am not positively sure. I didn't pay a whole lot of attention to that. I just liked the sound of the grand piano it had. Looks like others disagree, but hey, oh well... :) I am happy you enjoyed it. Take care my friend!

I am glad you enjoyed this on a snowy day. Nice to imagine that beautiful white snow, as we have not had any here yet. This song was recorded at the same time as all of my others. Same day, same sitting. It is funny to me how many of them sound different when I never changed anything, other than using the foot pedal too much or too little, I guess. I made them up as I went along and honestly, many of them have a lot of the same chords used over and over which makes me nuts, I never realized it. Anyway, I sincerely appreciate you taking the time to listen and happy you liked it. I visited your last song and really enjoyed it very much! Take care.

You see... &mdash 11/20/07 - 11:00:52 PM
...I told ya so! Get that piano tuned and start writing more. This quiet little meditation is so delicate and just so thoughtful at every single point. The instrument you are using sounds awfully like a harp to my ears and I like that sound for this landscape very much...I can't understand why you aren't writing more. Your music is wonderful, Gail. We need to hear more of it. Blessings for a peaceful Thanksgiving. Thank you for this little gift.
Peace.

Hello Paul &mdash 11/21/07 - 11:03:15 AM
Always such a pleasure for me to see you come by. Your opinion, I always value so much as you are so talented it blows me away! I have no control over the tuning of the keyboard as it was on an electronic one at my brothers house. However, I am going to purchase my own equipment soon, I hope, so that I can play and record off of my keyboard at home. I am so inexperienced with all this mess, so sort of hesitant as well. I have enjoyed this experience more than I ever imagined. Having people like my music is the greatest feeling ever! I appreciate your kind compliments and am so pleased that you liked this one. I wish you and yours a very Happy Thanksgiving also.

Another lovely, melodic and introspective tune... played with so much feeling and grace that it's palpable.

You have much to be thankful for... and so do we, to be able to hear it.

Have a wonderful Thanksgiving, Gail. ;)

Thanks Mark &mdash 11/21/07 - 01:00:32 PM
I sincerely appreciate the compliments. Please bear with me for my life story....lol! Yes, it is all improvised. I play how I feel and most of the time when I play, it always comes out kind of sad, longing, lovey dovey, longing type songs...My heart is full of emotion and I guess I am just a big weenie! :) I can't play honky tonk or fast music much and I don't read music all that well. But, I do love to sit and just play and then I realized from this recording of many songs, that I tend to repeat myself over and over in the same chord progressions without realizing it. So I have a lot to learn, but will never be able to take the time for lessons. Thanks for bearing with me for the long explanation. Please come back again sometime Mark...I will be quiet. Thanks for liking my song. Take care!

My Niece "Grace" really took to me today. She just turned one.
she kept grabbing my finger and taking me with her all round the house as she explored my mother in laws home.
So you see
I saw your title, and well, I am just so happy to be listening to this piece of beautiful music.
So perfect.

Understand It is still thanksgiving, and to me, opening this song, is very cosmic (note the first line in you unsung lyric/nice poem)
Karma is here and well...thats part of nature i think

Appropriate lyrics for Thanxgiving... I'm glad you didn't delete them... this did feel like grace being measured out in doses over time... although, looking back, sometimes my life has required the floodgates to be opened.... "my bad"

What lovely words. . . &mdash 11/24/07 - 09:37:33 PM
Loved the part about looking out at nature and of course with your playing. I can imagine you looking out through a window. That makes your playing so sacred in a way. Give an extra meaning. Possible seeing a couple of birds flying in the air, or some trees sway. The thankfulness! Thanks for such a beautiful setting, both in words and sound!

Way to go! Gail !
