Brand New Hand Me Down

An older song of mine recorded recently. I have no idea where all the semi-religious references came from - it was pretty much stream of consciousness. It's a bit repetitive, right down to the intro. I grew up on hand me downs - they still seemed new to me, though. Not much more about this one that I can think of.

yellow wrapped around the heavens when
amber burns to brown
as winter preys upon the autumn rain again

I can feel the wind upon my face
lifts me up, makes me lose my place
pick me up, if just to pass me around
nothing pleases like a brand new hand me down

heaven's falling down
if you could hear the angels, what would they say?
Such a lovely sound
I would listen but I can't hear much today

say a prayer for me
are you there for me when I fall down?
I'm in ecstasy
I would force a grin but I can hardly frown
