Good song. Now about that production.... &mdash 11/24/07 - 09:37:04 PM
You list ProTools as your major software. Is that the free ProTools, or do you have one of the expensive systems? See, this song starts out with almost no bass, except taht occasionally there are some loud thumps. Are you monitoring this on tiny speakers or so?

Really a shame, because it's a good song, you sing very well, and I love the acoustic guitar parts.

Let someone remaster this? Please?

This is one sustained groove... &mdash 11/25/07 - 08:04:23 AM
...and Mark's right, the vocal is great...

I hear what Vic's saying, too... It sounds a bit like it's coming over an old car radio, which is certainly appropriate to the tune, but I do find myself wishing for a bit of warmth in the mix... You definitely have a good general balance between the drums, guitar and vocal, and the vocal comes across loud and clear, which alone will carry the tune...

Bet this song would take to an upright bass...

Good to hear from you again, Cecil...

Nice work. The acoustic guitar has a really nice snap to it. Great separation between instruments, both in EQ and within the stereo field. Cool honest, classic lyrics. The issue with the bass drum (bass guitar?) where it fades in and out and gets overly thumpy is pretty severe and deserves to be fixed, because the song is well done otherwise. Did it happen while tracking? Sounds like the player got intermittently too close to the mic. But the song is really strong and the vocals and singing carry the song despite the bass issue. Well done.

I LOVE your voice, &mdash 11/26/07 - 09:36:56 PM
This is really fine work. The guitar, too. Yeah, I could stand some improvement done on the bass line, too. Great energy and drive. The ending was a bit abrupt - I'd even rather hear a fade out. Generally, though, you have the sound.

Great, authentic feel to the tune.

Soulful vocal performance.

Good to see you got some nice props in TUB. ;)

Thanx to Everyone for your comments and attention to detail.
I usually "hear what i want to hear" when recording. So it's refreshing to hear my tracks through other ears. I go for a "sound" each time i record a different track. Emotion is my main motivation, not so much perfection in the mix(so use to pleasing just me ). Once again, thanks for the listen.

Cecil
