Description:
I am a little late to the game, but, strange as this might strike the listener/reader, perhaps this song would have been included as a LOST SONG on this particular album. It won't be too hard to guess the composer...and maybe not even the album. But, square as I am, I hesitatingly submit this number for consideration...knowing full well that the genre is not particular common here.
(Thanks to Cori Ander for the inspiration...that just hit me.)

So peaceful and contemplative &mdash 11/30/07 - 02:11:10 AM
Paul you have a real gift.
I get Well Tempered Klavier coming through but with unexpected little twists and turns like a Chopin nocturne.
I'm in awe.
Cheers

A story... &mdash 11/30/07 - 07:21:56 AM
with a new chapter, I love it. When i hear this, I don't think of the past or the future- it is a Now story, and it is a lovely mystery. :-) [ Reply to This ]
Uhhh... &mdash 11/30/07 - 07:28:31 PM
...do you think you could extend it a bit more to, oh, say about 10x the length of this? You know...just so I can really get the feel of it.
Then, maybe add a full orchestra score behind it, while you're at it...
And some ballet dancers...
...lighting....
...a first class airline ticket and front row seats for me, my wife, and daughter...
...dinner at the best restaurant in the area...?
You know...nothing big...
Another fine tune, Paul. Love the moves between sun and shade...the extension is seamless. [ Reply to This ]

I'm gonna go with what Dick said &mdash 12/01/07 - 10:00:09 AM
cause he sounds intelligent - but in the meantime I'm going to put this on repeat in my iPod today and do a little research. What a wonderful composition and your playing is exquisite as always.
BTW - there's nothing square about you or your music. The squares are the ones who don't dig music at all. [ Reply to This ]

Absolutely sublime Paul &mdash 12/01/07 - 05:08:38 PM
I'm trying to associate this with a composer and am sorrily coming up short - I do hear more 'modern' harmonies and progressions so I'll guess Chopin's Nocturnes.
Lovely!!

Beautiful and relaxing &mdash 12/02/07 - 09:00:27 AM
Beethoven, it actually sounds similar to Moonlight Sonata. Chopin or Brahms. Very well played and composed. Very well done. [ Reply to This ]
Appogiaturra &mdash 12/02/07 - 11:58:15 AM
Bach with a modern view : no appogiaturras and a few later changes.
Goldberg variations?
Wonderfull playing .

Nice &mdash 12/02/07 - 03:05:38 PM
I am not as good with the classical musicians as I should be, but I have a vague sense for time periods and I would place this before Mozart :) (That is a key time period, right ;)
Thanks

Paul, Paul, Paul!! Man if I had even half the talent you have just in my little finger, I would be happy. I love your music. Never heard a key you've played that I haven't liked! Great job....again! [ Reply to This ]
Gentle and Still &mdash 12/03/07 - 08:11:03 AM
...it's snowing in Vermont as I write this, and there's no sound except this music in my phones and the snow drifting down among the trees outside.
I couldn't begin to guess at the artist or piece, but this is so beautiful and singular... one musician, one piano, and the whole world stops. That's music.
Thank you for sharing this. [ Reply to This ]
Absolutely &mdash 12/03/07 - 10:51:13 AM
beautiful.Well there are some modern twists in there but I still think it's Bach.I've heard some Bach with amazingly advanced harmony like the "Chromatic Fantasy and Fugue"I'm assuming that you wrote this all out correct? Are you hearing it in your head as you write it or using a keyboard? Really quite fantastic writing and playing. [ Reply to This ]

Thank you Paul for making this extension!

hello there! &mdash 12/07/07 - 10:17:44 PM
where do you have the time to compose such wonderful music? This is a beautiful piece. You really did not need the strings in the background but it adds to its beauty. I like the fact that is simple and yet has a variety of different tones that contributes to its serenity. Why did you call it wonderbread? thats the name I saw when I downloaded it into Itunes. I agree with you, the piano sounds better if a little more distant. Which Ivory set up do you use? [ Reply to This ]
My goodness... &mdash 12/09/07 - 10:57:30 AM
How did I miss this one?
I'm glad I've found it since :)
Gorgeous, sensitive playing. A beautiful, beautiful piece!

Lost &mdash 12/14/07 - 12:14:39 PM
I missed the start of this Lost Songs project - so I'm feeling a little bit lost myself.
The beginning had me saying Chopin ... but that ending is pure Beethoven.
Nicely played! [ Reply to This ]
Like your classical influence in about &mdash 02/21/08 - 02:02:23 PM
1/4 of the way. Then the romance after that, almost edgar allen poish.
Ya, it gets into a bit of darker sounds, but has a great fantasy about it. You really have a high level of melodic character in your tunes.
Like how you climb out of the darker feel then over halfway through more of a reflective sound.
Thanks for sharing such delightful music as all of them so much seem! [ Reply to This ]
