Lyrics
PITTSBURGH WINTER GREYS.

It’s snowing outside and though it’s warm inside
I’m seeing only naked trees.
Lead grey sky as the clouds rush by
On the cold and icy breeze.
Out on the street there’s a driving sleet
And a lone bird fights to beat
The first blast of winter
And it’s knockin’ me off my feet.

‘Cos somewhere there’s a place of eternal summer
Where the trees stay green and the air is sweet.
And the ocean breezes caress my soul
Where the spirit runs fast but life is slow.

There was a time when I thought that I could ride down any road.
Across any jagged mountains or where any river flowed.
But now I find that I ain’t got time to decipher every code
That life life throws across my path….should leave well enough alone.

Good Stuff!
Good quality. Particularly the guitar. Is the guitar work you?

My only criticism is the drum sound a little 'synth'. The only reason you notice is because the rest is so natural, like a well performed live act.

I love the way your sound breezes in and whirls and sweeps around the room ( or maybe it's just my head LOL), it's so fresh and full of movement. This again is a great song with great lyrics and sung once more in your inimitable style, regards M

Great song!!!
Hit home with me ... as I walked across campus today in Youngstown the thought occurred to me that they do have Universities in San Francisco and I should be there instead of here in the cold and the snow and the wind and the sleet and the grey.

Then I took a break to visit MacJams and found this song. Way to go Dennis. Perfect.

I especially like the line in the chorus about the spirit runs fast but life is slow. Great line. Playing is flawless as always.

There ya go showin' off again Dennis
Love the whole thing, but especially the lyrics. There's a lot of places this song rings so true, but none more than Pittsburgh.

One thing, and it may just be because I do so much country, but there's a few spots where the rhythm guitar overpowers the vocal to the point of not understanding the line. Just a few spots though.

great song Dennis, a real movers for those winter blues.

What Doesn't Kill You...
makes you COLDER! lol

Forget about the grays, Dennis... we're sending some white stuff from Cleveland over your way. ;)

Another great-sounding guitar song. I do love that 12-string sound, too. But your lead work was sharp and sassy on this one, too.

Very cool. ;)

Re: OH...
No problem, Dennis. Consider it an early Christmas present.

And don't worry... there's PLENTY more where that came from. LOL

Boy it's getting warm down here Dennis!
:)

Great song - love the guits and the double tracking on your vocal works well. Bass is probably less "in yer face" than I'd normally like, but a minor nit only.

Love elctric 12s!

Great tune!
Grey Skies and naked trees indeed! I feel your pain. Winter: see Buffalo. Really nice guitars on this one; would've preferred a bassier (is that a word?) drum, but I really dig the guitars. Nice chorus too, a real toe-tapper.

been dreading the winter
every winter, I can hardly wait for spring to get here; must have something to do with growing up near the equator and eternal summers....

Love the twangy lead bits, too.
