Lyrics
Rain Falls Down by NorthPoint (lyrics Alan Crouch, music Ken Lowther)

Verse 1
Sits alone, stares at the phone
Long distance melancholy rainy day
Watch the storm, dream of home
No satisfaction find a better way

Chorus
Rain Falls Down On
Rain Falls Down On
Rain Falls Down On Me.... and sets her free

Verse 2
Walk the streets, mournful city beat
Smell of espresso brings a cold morning smile
Drift away, liquid escape
Chase the clouds away for awhile

Chorus
Rain Falls Down On
Rain Falls Down On
Rain Falls Down On Me.... and sets her free

Verse 3
Pass the time, bottle of wine
Lost in the music feelin blue and sad
Far away eyes, dream of surprise
Too many evenings lost on love gone bad

Chorus
Rain Falls Down On
Rain Falls Down On
Rain Falls Down On Me.... and sets her free

thanks for listening
Zero, thanks for your kind words. We recorded everything in a home studio with Pat Yadon engineering and Phil Klahn mixing. I was happy we kept a live feel because we were playing these songs regularly around Portland when we made the recording. Charlie's drums had a nice "thump" to them I thought, and we got that bass sound by recording a Fender P bass direct into a computer through an M-Audio box with no effects, and then putting in a little EQ boost on the bass later, especially a notch at around 150khz. I learned that in a little recording book I read years ago - it is a trick to get the bass to show up in crummy old car speakers, etc. And the rest of the bass is a natural P bass sound - I think it comes out nice in a recording and glad you liked it too. Take care, Alan

I could use some rain right now.
Great pop song. Straightforward delivery of the message, with efficient accompaniment. Nicely done.

The organ could have been mixed a bit louder in its solo. Other than that it sounds great. You've got a really good voice.

Thanks Vic
Yes I agree we should have put that nice organ a little more up front in the mix. That's Phil Klahn on the organ, we love playing with him. And he mixed/mastered the tune so maybe he was being modest :)

Thanks for stopping by and listening, much appreciated!
