A lovely &mdash 12/08/07 - 07:43:02 AM
pensive piece of music, with lovely connotations of those old films with scenes of Christmas... you know the ones. Beautiful! Thanks, M

I am glad you liked it. Since this may be the last piece I have the time to compose before the new years, might as well make it a holiday piece!

Now you... &mdash 12/08/07 - 09:39:36 AM
...got it, Enrique. The sound of your piano is so lush and clean and I have a sense of a little distance that is just very very comfortable.

I just love this little piece. It is so much different than anything else of yours that I've heard. The tune is absolutely delightful in every way: unrushed, calm, peaceful, and played with sufficient rubato to give it breadth AND breath. This one's an immediate download because I want to hear it many many more times. (Oh, and the photo is the perfect fit with this song.) What a wonderful way to begin my day!
Peace.
Paul

Hi Paul &mdash 12/08/07 - 04:17:45 PM
Your critique and comments are greatly appreciated. I enjoy your music a lot, therefore I have listened to what you have to say, starting with buying the Ivory piano, to what piano sounds best. As far as writing the music by hand, hats off to you! you really have done that? I am not sure my distant musical theory training (combined with the lack of time) would allow me to do that!. it is true that electronic programs such as GB have revolutionized music, at least the ease of composing...(too bad I can't buy more talent!). I do have music in my head that I wish could put it in writing though...may be once my 3 kids college.professional education is paid (sigh!) I will have the time to take some music composition classes.. that would be a lot of fun!
I posted my reply twice before this one...how did this happen?

Hi Bob &mdash 12/08/07 - 04:32:46 PM
is that your first name? Thank you for listening....I am sure NY is colder than CA but it rained a lot in the last few days...ideal for staying at home and playing the piano if you have the time!

Christmas special &mdash 12/09/07 - 12:05:32 AM
Lovely tune Enrique - loved the start where you seemed to move in and out of some vaguely identifiable snippets of tunes. That was very skillfully done. A very relaxing, calm piece we'll be playing when our daughter and her little family come down for Christmas.
Thanks, and hope you have a wonderful holiday period!
Neil

I guess the snow in my picture...... &mdash 12/09/07 - 03:35:42 PM
does not come with the desert view from Australia? Although to tell you the truth I don't know much about the weather on your back of the woods.....Anyway, thank you for listening and I am glad you liked it.

Beautiful &mdash 12/16/07 - 06:32:52 AM
Beautiful chord progressions, and played with a lovely rubato feeling.

This is a traditional-sounding song, which gives the listener a feeling of contentment and recalls memories of pleasant times.

The piano sound from Ivory is very good. Glad to see someone else out there using a Clavinova. I have one at my school. What a great instrument. So many possibilities.
