Description:
This is a remixed version of our holiday song, simplified a bit. The Piano and vocal version, as it was originally intended We posted this last year with additional orchestration, which was mostly was an attempt to compensate for some noise by adding more noise. It's coming back this year with a more intimate mix, this time remixed in Logic Express. Kelli sings and Jim plays piano. Pretty simple really, but it's been really hard to mix because of that.Lyrics:
A Holiday TuneWinter everything white everything still and frozen Christmas lights twinkle in the night to passersby headlights line the highways homeward Streetlights meter out the traffic blinking gold and red and green as if to a holiday tune All day long I had Thoughts of you I wonder how you are and if you're warmer? Now the corner bar once open for the drunkards and the dreamers Charlie finds a broom thinks of an early conversation and hums to himself a holiday tune I won't speak of love I won't speak of fairy tales and I won't speak of things that lovers do Winter everything white everything still and An icy wind sweeps down an empty street Shoppers shuffle home with presents in their hands cold fingers in empty pockets and on their lips a holiday tune. And for you a holiday tune. Copyright 2006 kking & jbouchard Hardware:

She said, it's those kind of songs where you're allowed to sing about family joy and peace on earth and such. But there had to be an ingredient of familiar and near things like house work or other everyday aspects in it to make people associate with it.
And I think I agree. Your tune has those ingredients and voila - a true holiday tune:)
The sparse arrangement supports this and could sound like you two are in the same room. Kelli probably leaning against the piano, sipping to her mulled wine between the verses... Beautiful piano playing Jim - and lovely timbres in your voice Kelli.
Thank you.
