I started readdressing Sleep'r. I couldn't stop! I had a hard time stopping this one, too!!
Yeah, I meant to add a chorus to the Sleep'r part, but I will have to address it when I have time!
Peace,
Doug
I forgot to mention, I hope you have a few minutes...this song is longer than usual!

Lyrics:
Let me sleepDon't want to save the world today
Let me sleep
Don't you know I need the rest!
Let me sleep
Don't want to help my friends today
Let me sleep
Don't you know I need the rest!
Let me sleep
Don't want to make things right today
Let me sleep
Don't you know I need the rest!
For the rest of my life, I need rest...
I am gone
think of me
think of me
I was here
You'll miss me
dwell on me
dwell on me
like I'm here
End of the day
Raise my glass
Sun sets
Sun sets
Look north for guidance star

Experimental Art Rock
nice
i really like the occasional dissonances - it works!
perhaps the vocals are just a tad too hot tho
thanks
Doadars Uncle
Thanks for the visit! I really don't know much about categorizing my music.
I appreciate the comment. I'm not always pleased with my vocals. So I look for ways to enhance them digitally. But I don't think I'm always or even usually successful.
Thanks,
Doug

i struggle a lot with picking genres. Tobin's list of genres with descriptions is pretty helpful, but if you're experimenting, it doesn't really help much. there is an Experimental and an Other, which i have resorted to for some of my stuff.

You have added a lot of polish to this idea. The dreaming sequence late in the tune is a clever addition.
Thanks
Bill

As usual, it's nice hearing from you!
I followed a lot of the comments from the original. And I couldn't let it go...!
You ever get that ich that won't let go until you record it? I'm sure you do!
Much Thanks,
Doug
Dissonant diverging delectable sounds, cool vibes
Doadars Uncle
You got a lot of "d" words going there!
Thanks for the listen!

Love the sentiment, and I love the vocal - very laid-back and hypnotic. Nice guitar work in there too. I like the changes on the break. It's a long song, but the change over to the trippier section is well worth the wait. Nice work. Peace.
Doadars Uncle
Thanks for the note! This was fun for guitar.
Thanks too, for you patience.
It's a conglomerate of songs, but dependent on each other.

Love your use of guitar sounds and structure most of all.Second would have to be your song crafting and original writing skills.Third would be how you use and keep all those other elements in some order of assemblance while building your pieces.Always a surprise with your stuff, which I am always on the look out for. Thanks for delivering a very strange and very satisfing song.Love how you(never)ended this one, sweeeeeeeeetttt!!!
Blessings,
Doadars Uncle
Frip!? One of my heroes!
You know, man, I could keep going and going. But I'd probably be the only one to play it!
Seriously, it was a lot of fun to put together.
Your comments are appreciated.
Peace,
Doug
Vic Holman

I finally got a little catch up on my sleep, this weekend!

Like floating on a cloud.....
I concur with GC's "Frippy" comparison.
Very smooth Doug!
Be well!
Doadars Uncle
Always a pleasure!
Thanks!

I'm so glad I found it!! Absolutely sounds great. I can't find anything to critique!! I find the song's topic quite interesting since I am finishing a song about waking up in the morning.
Doadars Uncle
Thanks for the listen, psexnyc! You are leaving me speechless!

Cool song. Definitely Art Rock.
Doadars Uncle
Glad to see you! Yeah, it took a few weeks of thought for this one. As I don't have a lot of time to record, it was 60 percent strategy!
Thanks much for the listen!

so late to this one Doug. I remember the first take and thinking what a great idea. This version is definitely taking the idea to a more polished conclusion.

I've just been watching a documentary on the "Summer of Love". and it strikes me that this wouldn't have been at all out of place in the soundtrack (except that it's better recorded than anything from those days). Love the trippy discordant chords and odd phrasings - they all work together to make an old hippie reminisce!
It's come to my attention that you're not on my fav list (which is why I've missed so many of your songs(. That will be remedied NOW! Sorry :(
Have a great Christmas Doug!
Peace for 2008,
Neil

That movie title sounds familiar.
I was a kid in the sixties. But I did listen to a fair amount of the era's music. Not to mention some of the best hippie underground fallout during the seventies.
It's very nice hearing from you again, too.
Peace,
Doug
