Description:
Music track for the finale of the "Moon and Back Chronicles" video series on YouTube. Which is about my Honda Accord going over 500,000 miles! The least I could do is write a song to celebrate that event.
Lyrics:
Spending my days on the open roadWatching the world go racing by
Spending my night with a heavy workload
She’s waiting patiently outside
But she don’t care if I’m doin nine-to-five
She only cares that I’m behind the wheel
‘Cause this car just loves to drive
Gotta drive a Honda
If you’re lookin for a awesome car
Gotta drive a Honda
I tell ya, this car loves to fly
Gotta drive a Honda
Push the pedal down and you’ll go far
Step on the gas the future’s lookin bright, and it’s all right
Driving my car for over twenty years
She runs as good as new or better
Only one thing that causes me some fear
And that’s goin to fast if I let her
But she don’t care if I’m doin eighty-five
She only cares that I’m in control
And just keep paying all those fines
Gotta drive a Honda
If you’re lookin for a awesome car
Gotta drive a Honda
I tell ya, this car loves to fly
Gotta drive a Honda
Push the pedal down and you’ll go far
Step on the gas the future’s lookin bright
She don’t care if I’m putting on some weight
Or what I’m wearing is in fashion
She don’t care if I’ve got money in the bank
She only cares that we’re on the go
And open roads to drive on
Now that I’ve gone all the way to the moon and back
500,000 miles and rising
Maybe someday I’ll award the car a plaque
And on it say’s this car’s amazing
But she don’t care what’s on the odometer
She only cares that there’s gas in the tank
And the road is sailing under
Now on to Mars or farther
Gotta drive a Honda
If you’re lookin for a awesome car
Gotta drive a Honda
I tell ya, this car loves to fly
Gotta drive a Honda
Push the pedal down and you’ll go far
Step on the gas the future’s lookin bright
This cars gonna last I’m driver her day and night
Step on the gas, I’m going fast.

and a great rocking song.
Not sure I'd describe a Honda Accord as awesome though ;-)
I enjoyed the listen

My wife I think agrees with you. She concerned about me singing about a car. Thanks for listening

That's a lot of timing belts! Sounds like you finally have that car broken in! Should be good for a million miles at least.
This is easily the best song about a Honda I've ever heard... okay, maybe it IS the first one...
Really- this is an excellent driving song- sick guitar solo (slide? wow!), spot on vocal and overall a song that really holds and keeps the attention. Nice job!

Thanks for the comments. A dear friend laid down the sick slide work. He just gets it.

I hope she gets the idea that she can last that long too. Nice piece. You should at least get a free car from Honda for keeping yours so long and for advertising the brand with this cool song on you tube and on MJ :)

What started as a small low quality you tube vid has grown to full on music video. Us creative types just can't leave well enough alone.

lovely rockin sound with good playing, vocals just right. A few neo doo wops wouldn'd have been too out of keeping. But just great as it is. Thanks.
