This should be the soundtrack
to that terrifying movie A Christmas Story with Darren McGavin. Every year that film shows up and scares the daylights out of me. Don't get me wrong - this is a very cool piece of music - but more than a little twisted. High praise.

this is a little experiment to capture how we are saturated/inundated with winter solstice music this time of year. it's a sort of collage of the season leading right up to New Years Day, perhaps with a hint that we all need to make a resolution about changing what we've done with our world.

actually, all of this is built out of portions of MIDI files i grabbed off the internet - there's something like a dozen PD tunes blended here. i removed all but the main melody from each MIDI file, and shifted them to all be in the same key.

while searching for a song picture - this one caught my attention. it is indeed Times Square - but not on New Years Eve. that seemed fitting somehow since this song is meant to end on that day, when in contrast there are thousands of people there.

i think a recurring theme in my worldview is that we are all overloaded with sensory input - evolution didn't create the human mind to deal with what our world has become. this idea seems to show up in my music once in a while.

I can
visualise a wet city pavement at Christmas time with busy people and all of life passing hurriedly by in a tragic sort of way. The discordant sounds mingling really adds to this and as someone else said it makes a good descriptive collage. I only just took in your graphic, so I wasn't far out in my visual LOL, regards M
