Draft of a song I've been working on (off and on) for awhile. Needs some work, but thought I'd throw it out there to see what folks had to say about it. Fighting through some low moments in my life and clinging to a grain of faith. This song was born out of that experience.
Lyrics:

nice nice piece of music, and great singing and lyric writing... Parts of this seem to remind me a bit of Eagles (The Long Run) and a bit of The Hooters (anybody remember them?) Anyway, very satisfying song structure, lyrics were compelling and well written and sung. And nice guitar playing too. Here's a friendly wish for you, to find the strength and self confidence to pull through these difficult times! Thank you for sharing this, Rick!

Strong mainstream writing. Clear and standard arrangement. There are times, several, that the snare hits don't slot in where my ears want them, coming slightly too early or late, depending. The track is muffled, lacking a brightness that often lends immediacy, urgency, especially the vocals; consider EQing it with more bass and more treble, limiting some of the middle rhythm guitar frequencies. (Altho this EQ has a nice mellow feel, just not the vibrancy I think you are looking for.) If you are considering adding instruments, consider an organ in the second chorus, or at the second "every knee." This track has a very good demo quality, but the drum track especially makes it seem like a demo only, not a finished product.

Wow! I never expected such a quick response, but thank you, Tobin! You are spot-on...the production seems to lack a certain immediacy and brightness and I appreciate that point. I also hear an organ in this, but can't find one I like in my current GB set-up. I'll keep experimenting and playing with EQ. I really wish I had some basic production notes to learn from.
