Thanks you -

For some reason... &mdash 12/17/07 - 09:51:26 PM
I am waiting for Robert Plant to just erupt into this beautiful composition with a fully reverberating lead vocal as only he could pull off...! Love the folk rock feel...light and merry, but spiced with just a suggestion of mystery...

Thanks rick - Mr Plant is welcome anytime - I was born in Walsall not far from Jon Bonhams hometown of Dudley.Me and my cousin got quite drunk in a wood there one winter sitting on our leather jackets in the snow.Good times n bad times!

Those li'l bunnies... &mdash 12/17/07 - 09:55:15 PM
...they do hop quickly!

Lively backdrop and the recorder's a nice choice to go with it.

Reverb at the end...they didn't get him, did they?

Thanks Dick - I'm just careful not to bore myself with my own brain and the only way is to do something I find intersting. If someone else does too thats a reward.Have a good christmas - and watch yer arse for fairie lovebites! I've been seeing em quite alot too recently - those cartoon ones that used to fly around Tom and jerrys head.

Cheers - Rich

Crisp as ice &mdash 12/18/07 - 05:02:12 AM
Cute bunny.

Er ... that wasn't a come-on, I mean the one in the picture.

Never heard a kid's recorder sound so good, and I do love that balalaika. Icy clarity of tone.

You have a real gift for this kind of stuff ... your music is never a disappointment - always superb and always distinctively you.

believe me rebs 'cute bunny' wouldn't be.
Thanks - I reckon I could play it better actually but there are some strange things going on round 'ere in these parts and I didn't wanna attract any attention (the recorder is pretty resounding!).I've just about got a laptop running so I might be able to go and make some racket out in the frozen hills where no-one can hear.

Cheers - RG

Hey Rich... &mdash 12/18/07 - 05:03:56 AM
... this is a warm, almost naive little tune. Lovely feel to this ... just in time as the ice covers our little island!

Have a great xmas

very energizing. I especially liked that twang 2/3 in. Heart skipped a beat. Thanks for posting - best of the season to you.

ok I admit it - I didnt actually record this tune - the bunny did.It was his paw slipped on that bar making the twang - he noticed I had the word 'stew' in my eyes.

Cheers Bud - Merry days!

This has &mdash 12/18/07 - 10:22:07 AM
a lovely country (UK) Christmassy feel to it; nice merry rhythm and so musical and uplifting. Hope you're sorted out now after your upheaval and not living under a frozen leaf, All the best, M

Thanks Maurice - actually I've spent many a winter under frozen leaves, its not as bad as it sounds - you get two sleeping bags or one really good one and a fire going.I had a crazy job once that only came around at christmas, down in Brighton - organizing a show at £50 an hour.A couple of times since I left Sussex,I spent the last few weeks in December camping down there and going in to work then get home in the North a rich man on christmas eve.

Many Thanks - really appreciated - Richard

excellent &mdash 12/18/07 - 04:16:07 PM
it just shows my musical ignorance when I confess that the first comparison that crossed my mind was Led Zeppelin 3, but whatever your roots are: this is awesome. really nice.

I cant deny the 70's influence - both black sabbath and zep had strong connections with the west midlands, and during the 70's/80's rock was tops plus Dundgeons n Dragons.Even Motorhead got into the pop charts with Louis Louis!

Thanks,mike!

restraint &mdash 12/20/07 - 01:21:30 AM
Rich,
I admire your restraint for not taking that clinker note out. This is a fun bunny 'lil rambling drunk in the meadow kinda ditty. I was hoping you would open out that gob of yours and pour out some of your lovely poetry to cap it off. But as I said, I admire the restraint...Beautiful.
Philip

Better late than never &mdash 01/16/08 - 06:13:03 PM
I guess. I'm sure it's all been said before my late entry. I sure do like when the second mandolin comes in playing that little line, great note selection. I just like the way the whole thing feels. I know you're into the twang but I'm into the whole thang.

Mr RG very neat as usual

Hey now Paddler,
Lovely little ditty. Simple is good. Sound is nice.
Reverb at the end is a tasty little touche'! I picture a scene; the strings start to play in a wintry wood, a sprite appears out of the dark forest, blowing the recorder whilst dancing about and then ... POOF (reverb) - GONE! Greyt mate, just greyt. Fuels one's imagination, er, at least mine at any rate. yeah!
