Description:
This all started with the impressions I had after listening to a track by Brian Eno.
I wanted to recreate the scope of a building spectrum of sound that so impressed me in that track.

A piano improvisation with a repetition of one my favorite chord progressions seemed the perfect base track to work with, and so I started building the piece instrument by instrument and layer by layer.

This composition is dedicated to Bryn and Lisa C. :)
To Bryn because it was just over a year ago that we started collaborating, and I've learned so much and done so many wonderful collaborations in that time. Thanks, B, for the fabulous music, and for helping me learn LE7!!
And Lisa, thank you for so enthusiastically supporting these collaborations we do! They wouldn't happen without that support! :)

You're wonderful friends :D

Calming, quieting.

It's going to snow again today...maybe there'll be another song :)

A magical track..... &mdash 12/19/07 - 01:48:26 PM
This is a perfect Eno-esque track. Having listened to 24 or so albums of Eno since the beginning of the year, I think I know where you're coming from.

The piece is very evocative, of many things, and is peaceful and meditative as well.

Excellent.

Take care.

Paul

Wow...24 albums this year? Very cool :)

I have only really listened to Eno's music recently, and his ambient pieces, especially, really 'resound' with me.
I'm glad to hear that you liked this piece. Thank you for taking the time to leave a comment, and letting me know your impressions.

So calming. I like the guitar it kind of floats above all the other sounds.Towards the end when the strings come in it gets sad and then fades away! Very nice!

Listening to Brian Eno now... excellent... The work that he di with Harold Budd was amazing, specifically The Palteaux of Mirror comes to mind.
Nice piece... peace... I can see it falling now...

This is a very beautiful track Cat, I love the way it builds up. Your ambient pieces are so accomplished now...I think Mr Eno would be proud of this one

heartfelt... Just saw Finding Neverland with Johnny Depp on TV and this was an adapt "soundtrack" to follow. Both almost made me cry of melancholy joy. Thank you!

Light and fluffy &mdash 12/22/07 - 08:39:47 PM
I love when it starts to snow. It starts with a single snowflake and it gradually builds into this stream that caresses your face if you look up at the sky. Your piano playing is like that, it caresses the listener.

Very gentle piece, very much enjoyed.

I'm sitting at a ski chalet &mdash 12/22/07 - 11:19:28 PM
surrounded by a metre of soft fluffy white snow. It drifted down with each flake dancing to its own tune, and these tunes swirled and danced so delicately - playing against each other - creating the symphony of the snowfall. I think you brilliantly captured this beautiful music and translated it for our ears to hear.

Thank you for this gift.

Doug

Echoes of... &mdash 12/23/07 - 05:54:33 PM
...Zawinal/Lava and even Little Fishes in this one...

Combines something random and elegant as falling snow with something almost mathematically 'right'...

It's like chaos theory...when something is PERFECTLY unpredictable, you can almost begin to count on it...

..the weathermen and girls (hmm why don't we say weatherwoman .. perhaps it sounds like wonderwoman too much .. anyway, I digress..) .. could get the weather as
well as you have. This is truly beautiful capture of snowfall as clearly as the fine picture and a cold red nose. Love it.
