Interesting. &mdash 12/19/07 - 09:24:36 PM
This song is not the only one here on MJ that is composed entirely with sounds generated in GarageBand. This song and the many others composed this way just blows my mind. I have tried to make music like this too using only GB and my stuff never comes out as expressive as this piece is. How do you manipulate those sounds like this? A nice, mellow, even feel to it. I like the way the sounds seem to waft from my eMacs speakers. Very, very enjoyable. You gonna add some vocals?

Thanks! &mdash 12/19/07 - 10:06:28 PM
Thanks a lot for the kind words. I really just used the sounds that I got from Apple's Jam Pack 3 Rhythm Section software cd. I might have added a little more echo in the guitar part but that's about it. I liked the drum loop...it was a Jazz drum loop and when I did the little piano phrase, it just seemed to fit. I then just added that synth pad in the background...two simple chords...and then just improvised with the guitar sounds and kept the best parts and arranged them. I get a lot of enjoyment out of doing this stuff. Wish I had more time to do it. Never thought about vocals. Maybe I'll take another look at it and see if I could make something work. Thanks again!

hmmm. &mdash 12/19/07 - 10:15:59 PM
i dont know if i would call this new age, but again, what does one call it? there is not a category for simply really cool tunes... heh. i liked that this was a mix of instrumantation from the GB vaults. it really shows what one can do with the program, and how accessable it is to everone, not matter the musical abilities, or musical training. makes me love macs even more...

What is New Age, anyway? I thought I knew... &mdash 12/19/07 - 11:24:50 PM
Hi Allen, thanks for your comments. Yeah, I didn't really know what my genre my song fell under. Any suggestions? :) And I agree wholeheartedly that Garage Band has opened up music to so many more people thanks to its power and ease of use. I think what most amazes me, being here on a site like this, is just how many talented people there are out there. I've listened to both yours and psexnyc's music since your comments and feel honored that musicians of your caliber liked my tune. Thanks for that. It makes me want to do more.

A lovely piece, and remarkable for coming from GB sounds. You show tremendous creativity ins putting this together. It makes me want it to be Spring or something! Very cool. Nice work. Peace.
