Description:
Lollipop by Super 8Ahhhh....Christmas 1994... Super 8 (David Griffiths vocals/guitar, Bryn Corbett guitar, Ian Hough bass) were playing regular gigs in an around the Birmingham area. Small pubs, local dives, 50 quid to hire a PA for the night, charge 1 quid on the door and just about break even with costs...happy days indeed. We had a small but loyal following and our gigs were groovy happening events (I have got videos to prove it!) We recorded our demos on a yamaha MT100 4 track cassette portastudio and plastered everything in Alesis Quadraverb in the hope of making it all stick together... This song is a trip down memory lane for me, and I do believe that it was only played once by us live and went down a storm - with its Glitterband beat, a nod to Roy Wood wishing it could be xmas everyday and its britpop sensibilities Good lord - this recording is almost 15 yrs old!!!! Happy Birthday Lollipop I always loved this song - and I still do Hope you do too Here is Lollipop in all of its lo-fi glory bryn |
