Description
Mavis slipped over the side of the dive boat and into the water. She was at once struck by how different diving in the ocean was than the SCUBA lessons in the Oshkosh YMCA pool. Strangely, she had a feeling of claustrophobia in the freedom of the ocean that she never had experienced in the walls of the pool.
She soon began to feel more relaxed and was enjoying the beauty of the ocean, the color of the filtered sunlight above, then the first Humpback appeared. Mavis almost choked on her air supply mouthpiece. It was enormous ... nearly as big as the truck her ex-husband drove for a living back in Wisconsin. She marveled at the grace and ease with which the giant mammal moved in the water. It's smoothness almost made her embarrassed because of her own clumsy efforts at moving in the water. Then it sang ... its beautiful song. Mavis just wished she could understand what the Whale was saying. Was she calling to some unseen lover ... warning of a clumsy stranger in the area ... or calling to her child?
After 30 minutes, Mavis was short of air in the tanks and had to surface.
She had never thought that such a short dive could have changed her life forever.

piece of music. Lovely sounds and nice touch on the keyboards. The backstory and image send the song in a certain direction for sure, but to my mind, it seems open to many interpretations. Very nice work. Peace.
