Description
Here's little number in the 12 bar tradition that my brother Will wrote (with his tongue firmly planted in his cheek) which is why I had to take the vocals. He sent me a file a few weeks back and I did a demo and sent it to davisamerica for his input. Jack did a great job beefing up the drums and adding keys and horns. He sent it back to me and I laid a little extra guitar on it and tweaked the mix. Jack is one heck of a nice guy and a talented musician to boot - it was great working with him - check him out.

Lyrics
Had a good job
Lot’s of good food to eat
Money in the bank
Brand new shoes on my feet
Then you showed up baby
Now I haven’t got a dime
Used to sleep late on the weekends
Now I’m workin’ overtime
You traded in my Cadillac
To buy a new mink coat
To sport those fancy diamonds
You sold my fishin’ boat
When you showed up baby
I became another man
I was always in the money
Now I’m just an also ran
You’re bad news baby
No good for me I know
You got that special something
Just can’t let you go
I had season tickets
On the fifty yard line
Didn’t worry ‘bout what he had
Cause I always had mine
Then you showed up baby
I lost my peace of mind
My hair was dark and curly
Now there’s not a hair to find
I used to have a suit
For each day of the week
Let my eyes do the talkin’
Never had to speak
Then you showed up baby
Now I’m wearing overalls
Used to have cell phone
Now I’m not getting any calls
You’re bad news baby
No good for me I know
You got that special somethin’
Just can’t let you go
