stilla natt !
is so awesome my freind , your style of pickin
here just beautiful as always and suit the song
as well ..did you use new chords I feel maybe you
fused lol here and there ... excellent one thank you
and well done myfriend

Merry Christmas !!
Cori Ander said 704 days ago (December 22nd, 2007)

You're faster than internet Feter.

I didn't really think much of which chords there are .. some places I think there are many different notes ringing at the same time which makes the chords somehow compounded (if that is what what fused means)..
Ibstrat said 704 days ago (December 22nd, 2007)
You have
great control over which note to emphasize. It's a subtle thing but I've heard few people do it as well as you on steel string.(Segovia and Julian Bream were not too bad on nylon string.)
Thanks for posting your beautiful playing.

Wow thank you, those two were both heros in my younger days. So the comparison is not a little. I dig listening to old Segovia recordings still today. He didn't only have a genious for arranging, he was also a master of his instrument and he always played with such passion. He even played Bach with a great temperament. And he did old JSB justice. That is unparallelled.

Thanks, Johannes...
Thank you and a merry Christmas to you and yours...Mackie and Sunbeam...

This is wonderfully alive, with a quality that I sometimes call 'vibrant peace'...

I hope this turns out to be the year that we actually meet...

Ed

I really hope the same pal!
"Vibrant peace" .. thank you for giving me words, I like these, (sometimes when people ask what kind of music I play I can't give an answer). A translation to Swedish would be a perfect name for a record..

One thing i can always say, that you play and attack that guitar with great confidence.

Stille natt! Heilage natt! (NORWEGIAN - Nynorsk)
I know this song as "glade jul - hellige jul"... Stille natt is more a direct translation of the english version... but I guess it's known as that as well here:)

Very good version Johannes. I just listened to mcboy's SN, and you both have made me feel calm and relaxed with your christmas songs.

Thank you:)

Yes
Yes in Norwegian there seem to be both
Stille natt! Heilage natt! (NORWEGIAN - Nynorsk)
and
Glade jul (NORWEGIAN - Bokmål)

Here is the page where I found them:

Glad Jul Thor!

Thank you Cori
That you are a skilled guitar player is no news here at MJ, but who could believe that you are also such a skilled linguist, to know all those languages! I didn't even know the names of some of them! :-)

God jul och gott nytt musikr!

Thanks a lot Mr Boy!
And, as I wrote on your Silent Night version 'SN' I dig that one a lot too.

Merry Christmas to you!

Thank you Johan
On repeat as I prepare for church where I will manage the audio for my daughters' choir. I only hope to provide similar reverential space to their notes as you have given the notes here. Beautiful; both tender and mild. I love the backing bass notes; great fingers.
Have a peaceful Christmas and a prosperous New Year.
Joe.

Wonderful as usual
Johannes, I love the feeling from the heart you put into your playing. Silent Night is a simple, sweet, song, but you put your heart into it, as you do with all of your music.

God bless and a very, merry Christmas,

Rick

Franz Gruber was my wife's distant cousin on her paternal side. Every year we celebrate the fact that she has a connection to arguably the most beautiful Christmas song written. Such a wonderful treatment from your hands.

Sorry so late, my friend
MY MJ email notification stopped working, apparently a few weeks ago, and I have missed a lot of songs. Your rendition of Silent Night is full and rich and... well, just gorgeous! It sounds like your guitar is right in the room, lovely playing. :-)
