Keywords:
Big (14)Dynamic (5)Catchy (28)melodic (62)strong (10)
Description:
Keeping with tradition........ It is merely a track I've been working on with very limited computer resources! Just guitars and drums for now (EzDrummer) albeit, the intro was done in Reason using my MK-249C. I have a dual 1.2 GHz CPU due on the 27th, needless to say, I'm pretty stoked!!! I can't wait to dive back in and finish a menagerie of solid beds I have made in the past 8 months! This is only a concept, so leave me some skin (};-P)

Lyrics:
Directly!

Hardware:
Ibanstien guitar, MK-249C, Pocket Pod, FastTrack USB and my old G4.

Software:
Logic Express and Reason.

Hey! &mdash 12/24/07 - 10:55:34 AM
A new track from you! I like the riffs a lot. This should be a killer tune when you get this finished up. (not that it's not good as is, :P)

Hey.... Big (M) &mdash 12/24/07 - 11:00:38 AM
Thanks for the kind words brother. I apologize for being so out of it lately! I've got a new processor coming Thursday! Yeehaw.... can't wait. I'll be by for a listen.

So much &mdash 12/24/07 - 11:33:58 AM
power going on here... just so full of energy. The guitar sounds you've got are great (has a sort of violin sound in parts just coming up for the end). I wondered where you'd got to lately and now I know, can't wait for your 'golden tones' to be added and it'll sound terrific. If the others are as good as this you have quite a repertoire, regards M and a very Merry Christmas to you.

Maurice my friend! &mdash 12/24/07 - 12:51:34 PM
Thank you so very much. Your opinion means a great deal to me! Yes.... I think I've got another diamond in the rough here. I'm getting a dual 1.2 GHz CPU for my weathered old G4 on the 27th, so the grinder will indeed be back with a fervor! Happy Holidays to you brother.

Good build-up &mdash 12/24/07 - 03:41:57 PM
I really like the intro that you stuck on this track. The guitar work is good and thick sounding, but without that intro it would have been yet another metal song.

Kudos for some quite welcome creativity in the screaming guitars genre.

Thanks Vic! &mdash 12/24/07 - 04:32:35 PM
Yeah, I was just messing around in Reason with my keyboard, found some cool voices and just started playing with the old jog wheel. The rest just sort of fell into place. Reason is an awesome program for spawning new ideas! this is the second song I've built just by messing around and exploring different concepts. Music is the sh*t man! Merry Christmas my friend.

Jog wheel? &mdash 12/24/07 - 04:41:18 PM
Correction: That would be pitch wheel! just had to let you know eyes paying attention (};-P)

Great introduction &mdash 12/25/07 - 12:22:52 AM
and a nice surprise when the drums and guitar kick in. The guitar is great - dirty but melodic, a killer combination. I love the riffing on the break - kind of makes me think of a combination of Brian May and Mick Ronson circa Man Who Sold The World. Nice one. I can't wait to hear how this one develops. Hope you have a Merry Christmas and peaceful, creative New Year. Peace.

the electronic section was great. plus there is some killer harmony riffs on the metal side. niiice!!

Good to see a post BTW and will be interested on how this turns out.

Sorry for the late reply bro! &mdash 12/29/07 - 08:28:46 PM
Thanks Vic, Unfortunately I didn't make a clone of my hard drive on my back up and lost the Logic file and all I have is the mp3/mp4 files! @!#$%&* I don't know if I can redo that intro? Or build the same drum track? I just upgraded to a 1.2 GHz CPU and installed Leopard! Needless to say, I have lots of work to do. Thanks for the comment my friend. You'll be seeing a clot more of me now! (Didn't mean to scare you!)

CLOT? &mdash 12/29/07 - 08:30:59 PM

Metal! &mdash 12/26/07 - 02:06:36 PM
Rock on Ax!

Man, this is really heavy and cool. I agree with everyone here that the intro was really a great idea. I can see the live show with the fog billowing over our heads and the lasers and the you with giant lumberjack boots (Think Elton John in Tommy) shredding the skin off our faces.

Brilliant new stuff man. Glad to get to know you this year and look forward to what you dole out with the new gear.

I hope 2008 is a very Happy New Year for you.

Your pal,

Bob

Thanks 5 extra, brother! &mdash 12/26/07 - 09:41:21 PM
It mean.... Thank you 5 times, 6 in layman terms! I don't know about "Brilliant" I wouldn't say that I am "B-R-I-L-L-I-A-N-T!!! or anything like that (};-P) But I concur that it is a wee different than the mainstream! I just hear this s*it in my head and attempt to lay it down to sound half good enough for people to have the ability to stand to listen to it! Lol. Or something like that!

Ax

cool &mdash 12/26/07 - 06:49:53 PM
that intro is a perfect way to kick things off and love all of the harmony riff-age. that's great your getting a new set-up, should make things much more pleasurable for you. is this going to be an instrumental piece, or will you lay vox on it? correct me if i'm wrong, but didn't you post something else with you singing (and it was good)?

[ Reply to This ]
OK, Michael2 &mdash 12/26/07 - 09:49:44 PM
I get it! Yes..... I plan to toss some VOX salad over this without crouton torpedos ..... Those are very bad indeed! Thank you for your words of kindness. This should be an exciting year!

electronic people singing to the sound of rock'n'roll... Great job... Some sort of Korn's latest...

Hey, thanks Craft! &mdash 12/28/07 - 04:30:56 PM
I guess if you made a comparison to Korn, It can't be all that bad (};-P) I appreciate you stopping buy and I hope you had a Merry Christmas! Now we have 2008 staring us smack in the face! Have a good one of those too bro,

It was nice to climb back up into...... &mdash 12/30/07 - 01:16:06 AM
the saddle brother! I have a lot more computer now, so I should be able to actually utilize the power of logic instead of crashing all the time. I don't know how I pulled that last one off? Anyhow, thanks for your comment and have a Happy New Year.

Thanks Bob! &mdash 01/05/08 - 09:48:19 PM
I'm glad you like what I've got going on here. of course the more I listen to it, the more crappy it sounds (};-P) The next installment shall hopefully prove to be much more precise! I have over twice the power at my command now (Major CPU/RAM upgrade) And I'm running leopard and just installed Logic 8...... Pretty awesome, but a bit CPU hungry! I appreciate your stopping by for a listen and your kind words.

Ax

Yeah &mdash 01/05/08 - 08:41:30 AM
When this is all wrapped up it'll be the final track on your CD: that big, driving number that leaves 'em wanting more.......

Great beginning on this, and your interweaved, harmony guitar lines are killer.

Well done, and I'm very glad I stopped by.

Sorry for the late comment, but I kinda been under the weather for a while.

This is sweet brother. I love the classical influenced change in the end. It reminds me of Yngwie. I can't wait to here what you do next. Awesome my brother. Keep up the good work.

Well then...... &mdash 01/11/08 - 05:51:15 PM
if you like it..... it can't be all that bad! (};-P) Just a basement to build on, although I have to completely rebuild it from scratch cause I lost the files during my upgrade. I should have done a "clone backup" What a B-I-O-T-C-H man! Oh well, perhaps the next version will actually be good? Anyway, thanks for stoppin and for the uplifting praise you left.

Awesome ax! &mdash 01/21/08 - 05:58:49 AM
This song feels metallic. No, I mean literally. . .lol-- I don't mean "metal" in the rock sense--that opening sounds like bending, grinding, STEEL. Totally kickass!

Guitar work is amazing.
