Description:
Around ten or twelve years ago, I got into playing shoot 'em up games. I especially liked Doom 2 and Duke Nukem. Playing the games became an obsession almost. For the sake of my back, they were all deleted from my machine. It was hard to do, I can tell you.

Anyway - one thing I really liked was the ambient music going on, almost unnoticeable, in the background. I can't really remember the music, but I've had a go at doing some of my own. Makes a change from all the Christmas stuff going on at the moment - it's very dark and heavy.

I've made all of this with the Albino 3 soft synth. There are fourteen tracks altogether and I've used no loops.

"Dead Simple", FYI, was one of the levels in Doom 2.

Thanks for listening to my efforts. :)

Hardware:
G5 iMac, Edirol midi controller

I know what you mean about &mdash 12/26/07 - 11:01:09 PM
the music in some of those games - it really added to the growing sense of unease and impending doom (pun intended) you felt as you entered a new level or even turned a corner. I have to admit I don't really play too much these days (too many time constraints) but this reminded me very much of that feeling, and those days. Nice job of creating something so dark and ominous. Nice one. Peace.

Thank you! &mdash 12/27/07 - 05:04:32 AM
I was hooked on 'em - too old for that! I ended up with a slipped disc, too much sitting hunched over a keyboard. Which is why they got deleted.

The music, as I recall, was just as you say. It was brilliant.

Anyway - thanks for stopping by and commenting. Appreciate that. :)
