Description
Posted, unfortunately, a day late. Got too involved in the festivities. But I hope you can still enjoy.

Christmas themed light (reach out to your neighbor) blues.

Lyrics
I met her
Somewhere after midnight,
Walkin' down the street, head hangin' low.
She was drownin' all her dreams
In a bottle of tequila,
Her life was drainin' away
In the winter snow.

She told me she'd left a farm
Somewhere in Georgia,
To live it up in the lights of New Orleans.
But after the Storm she stuck out her thumb
For the streets of New York City.
She found out life
Ain't always what it seems.

I told her "Hon, I don't need
What you are sellin'
But here are fifty dollars anyway.
Now get yourself a Greyhound,
And take that bus to Georgia.
Your Mama'd love to see you
on Christmas Day."

Well, Christmas lights are lovely
In the city,
Sparklin' "Peace on earth, good will to men."
But lights are cold and dark
When you're hungry, down, and lonely,
So let's reach out our hand
and be a friend.

Nice one
A little cluttered, perhaps; there were times I found myself confused as to what I should be listening to/for, which distracted me from the narrative. Might just be a question of eq'ing the instruments so they 'fit' better together, or perhaps some editing is in order.

And I have a bit of a problem with classifying this as blues lyrically, just plain too well-intentioned; not a bad thing in and of itself, just not blues.

Cheers, Shaky
