This is a terrific track &mdash 12/26/07 - 08:48:14 PM
The guitar effect and the vocal performance give it an open, mythical vibe. I like the chanting style vocal, and there is great expressiveness in your singing. Reminds me of Jim Kerr (from one of the good albums way back when!) You have some very nice riffing on here, and a great build-up, pullback, release dynamic in the arrangement. Very cool. I'm really glad I stopped by. Peace.

No words &mdash 12/27/07 - 05:42:49 AM
No words on this one, just mumbling I'm afraid.

Like some other uploads, this was also recorded whilst we were auditioning vocalists.

As you can probably make out, this is a live jam. I think I have an 8 track mix somewhere, but I liked the raw feel of this one better.

Yes, indeed, Jim Kerr-ish vibes from some of my singing.

I take that as a complement - lol.

Thnxs for listening....

I have to agree .. &mdash 12/27/07 - 06:28:21 AM

.. it's not just the singing but with guitar too, does have a "Simple Minds" twinge to this. Though you can
do rougher, more expressive bits.

This mix is still good today to my ears (if a tad hissy and the hi-hats a bit loud for my tastes)- did you
brush it up? Bearing in mind it's a live jam though, it's bloody marvelous, great performances all round- good to hear some true jams at Macjams.

Have a great Hogmannay Graham.

Thanks guys.

Alan, yes, I did brush this up a wee bit but 'not a lot'.

I sure would like to re-do this one though digitally from scratch ;-)

Big &mdash 12/27/07 - 03:19:52 PM
Fine song layout. Deserves a go in a studio with more "presence" to vocals. But the live feel is good in its own right. Keep on.

Being on &mdash 12/27/07 - 03:48:28 PM
1) Vocals
2) Bass
3) Keyboards
4) Recording

at the same time is far from easy.

Imperfections aside, all involved are pleased that folks have actually heard this home-based studio demo.

Better than I thought &mdash 12/28/07 - 12:15:00 AM
I found out that I was only hearing one channel! My apologies. My Sound Control Panel had the L-R channel balance all the way over to the right. I think there is a glitch in Tiger causing this. It has happened before. The mix sounds much better in my headphones than what I first heard on my external speaker(s).

sweeping and immersive. it gave me an eric johnson vibe. the mix is right there, albiet a little shy on bottom end. great post. new fan. this music is readily accessable and radio ready.
