Description:
This song is about spreading love, it could be simple as just talking to someone but not limited to anything. A lot gets tossed around about what a song has to have, so as usual I had to chanllenge this theory. The simpleness of this song is reflective of how simple it is to spread love. Just a guitar and a voice no major production just as a simple conversation can do the same. I help with the homeless a lot and I noticed that sometimes even more then feeding them they appreciated the conversation, the hugs, and listenning to there story. But the food, clothes, blankets whatever... I feel are necessary for them to hear and trust me. This song is written on many different levels about love I included the words and some insight into the making but it's much bigger then that or even me. I thank God for giving me so much and helping with the creation of this song, hopefully it will be able to help Oxfam help many though I am just one.

Lyrics:
Life can get you down sometimes
It's not a mystery to why so many people lose there mind
Oh I try to keep it all in prospective
And with my life I'm so protective, I guess this song is becoming reflective
Of the World and all her crazy twist and turns
So many bridges we have burned, not many lesson have we learned
On how to love and treat our fellow man
When will we understand that every breath is a gift
You never know when the tide will shift

You cant live without Love you must be willing to trust
That you're fellow man will help you up
You can't live without peace I know it's hard to believe
But take it from lil brother you cant live...

Love is a choice you have to make
although you gonna make mistkes it's just a little give and take
Until you fall, and someone sweeps you off your feet
and pulls the rug from underneath, it feels to hard to breathe
Now you know the difference between joy and pain
A thin line between in love and insane enjoy the sun with the rain
Soak it up and give the day a special kiss
And treasure the moments you'll miss cause life is to short to trip

You cant live without Love you must be willing to trust
That you're fellow man will help you up
You can't live without peace I know it's hard to believe
But take it from lil brother you cant live...

good song with a great message &mdash 12/30/07 - 09:52:33 AM
Fab harmonies and a great voice. You kept the song alive all the way, and with such a sparse arrangement that is pretty well done. I like the little perc things you do and how you play that guitar.

Welcome to macjams. Hope you'll find it a good place to be:) I know I do!

Cheers, Thor

PS! Thanks to Harold for leading me to this one.

A Pinprick of Light... &mdash 12/30/07 - 10:32:21 AM
can penetrate the deepest darkness.

And often, the smallest things we can do are the biggest help to those who need it.

There is a profound elegance to the simplicity you achieve in this thoughtful song. Not so simple to do.

Soulful vocal delivery with some really nice harmony work. A very nice piece.

Thanks to Harold for the shout-out.

Welcome to MacJams, Moses. ;)

You make it happen in this song. First there is the lyrics and what they are saying... amen to that. Then there is your singing... especially those harmonies. So choice. And not to forget, a great job putting this all together. A beautiful audio package. I am glad I stopped by. Thanks for putting this one up.

Hey &mdash 12/30/07 - 10:54:20 PM
I love this - the groove, the message, your voice - all stunning.

The harmonies are exceptional. I love the "telephone" effect on the spoken sections, too.

Just outta curiosity, what're you banging to make that cool funky beat?

I know that you wrote that the simplicity of the arrangement was deliberate, so feel free to ignore the heck out of this comment, but I couldn't help thinking that starting about halfway through a subtle tasty organ or maybe even violin or cello line doing some couterpoint would be pretty sexy.

Bottom line, though: damn fine work, welcome to MJ, I'll be looking forward to hearing more from you!

Hey Brain thanks for you comments ... I banging on all parts the guitar with a ring on in some parts and eq'd the hits differently as if the were a drum set.

And yeah while I understand your feelings on the instrument part just as much as the simplicity was part of the song so was trying to prove that you can make a good song without following theory or standard predetermined notion of what a song should have. And I did see your "feel free to ignore it" I just thought I'd address it :D maybe a remix one day ...

nice world & music &mdash 12/31/07 - 05:36:34 PM
Welcome to Macjams, first of all. And what a gorgeously effective powerful song you have here. I love the well-crafted, well-thought-out, strong message in the lyrics... the song is pretty, good backdrop to cradle the singing, and your singing and harmonizing is a delight. I think that adding much more to the music would just muddy things up and detract from the positive vibe. Great stuff! Sure wish I could sing like that! :-)

Wisdom for the weary &mdash 04/11/08 - 11:30:56 AM
This is more than a naive "nice message." It has an admirable, somewhat world-weary quality to it. Your vocal is driven by what sounds like a very strong vision behind the lyric and commitment in performance. The bkg vox and coordination with the lead is just immense. Thanks for standing and delivering on this.
