Ibanez... &mdash 12/30/07 - 11:30:17 AM
...makes really amazing guits at great prices. Yours, obviously, is no exception to the rule.
Sounds incredible, man. Fine tune/recording, too. I love the nylon string guitar and you've got a beautiful feel and the chops to go with it. Cool it's your first time...looking forward to more.
"Spanish Haze", indeed. Jimi?

Jimi? &mdash 12/30/07 - 02:51:40 PM
The Jimi reference was unintentional, I had another name picked out but everytime I think I come up with a cool name I Google it and find out I'm not so clever after all. Thanks for the listen and yeah the Ibanez was a good deal, built in tuner, Fishman pickup and preamp for $300.00. Stuck a mic in front of it and was kind of surprised on the sound. [ Reply to This ]
Yeah... &mdash 12/30/07 - 05:35:57 PM
...I didn't really hear Jimi in there.
Fishman makes good ones, but I've yet to meet an acoustic pickup that I like more than a good mic. [ Reply to This ]
I hear ya &mdash 12/30/07 - 05:44:32 PM
When I first tried the guitar I was only using the pickup and it was absolute crap, knowing I had to go to a mic I blended a little of the Fishman into the signal and it added to the overall sound, but you're right the mic was the answer. [ Reply to This ]

Got a piezo on my classical that I only use if there's too much background noise for a mic. Live shows outdoors with too much wind, for example.
In that situation, I'll plug in. I've found that it helps to dial down the mid a lot and cut the treble a little, too. More natural sound. Cuts down on the volume a bit...but it sounds much better.
I really like this piece... [ Reply to This ]
rich and dreamy &mdash 12/30/07 - 12:00:57 PM
a beautiful haunting melody with wisps of dimeola flavors. Is that a picture you took personally? It fits the track perfectly. Invites the curious to explore and the daring to explore. Excellent production [ Reply to This ]

I don't know about that...maybe an EP? If only I knew a great fingerpicker from Miami to make a guest appearance to bring it some credibility. Happy New Year to you and all of your friends, we will see what 2008 brings, maybe even some guitar slinging. [ Reply to This ]

There's a lot of life to this... &mdash 01/05/08 - 03:32:28 PM
And you are getting a great sound from that nylon string guitar...Nice and full...
There are a couple of moments, when the mix is less full, when I think a little less reverb would be cool, but overall there is a very lyrical, singing quality to the sound...
Oughta be a demo piece for Ibanez salesmen to play in-store....

You surprised me! &mdash 02/03/08 - 02:23:21 PM
This is a great sound and great departure. The acoustic really puts you sense of melody front and center where it belongs.
You continue to amaze and are proving yourself to be one of the most understated MJ Guitar Gods. [ Reply to This ]
Gorgeous exoticism... &mdash 03/01/08 - 03:57:28 PM
if that's a word! I love it all and must comment on your incredible feel for drama and narrative in your playing. The exotic imagery, your playing emotes, is simply astounding! Very Very jealous. [ Reply to This ]

Addicting, isn't it! &mdash 04/03/08 - 08:32:30 PM
Something about a nylon string guitar. It creates a sense of old world mystery, especially with a composition such as yours. This is terrific!
Faving this one was a no-brainer!
