Written for a friend of mine whose wife went searching for those elusive greener pastures. My brother Ed did the guitar work, I did the vocals and wrote the lyrics. Thanks for listening!

Lyrics
The “For Sale” sign hit a root or two, but it finally stood it’s ground
A corner lot, by appointment, with no money down
I remember when we bought it back in 1993
When I used to see forever in the way you looked at me
That old front porch swing is calling like a soothing violin
The agent likes the curb appeal, it will really bring ‘em in
You said we got our money’s worth, it was a hundred bucks at Sears
I say we’ll lose a fortune the next thirty empty years
I’ve packed up all your boxes, a life together on the label
And I hope you find the thing that you are looking for
Can you help me clear the blessings from the table
Before you kill the lights and walk out that door
Emma Joe’s just hear on weekends, she can’t know how it feels
A tattered Barbie suitcase with too many miles on the wheels
You said that it’d be better to pull the plug before she’s grown
I always thought your family was the place that you called “home”
When you signed the final papers, you gave me back the ring
You said we got an awesome price, but to me, there’s no such thing
I may never convince you that what you did just wasn’t right
But the rattle of those 30 coins is gonna keep you up at night
I’ve packed up all your boxes, a life together on the label
And I hope you find the thing that you are looking for
Can you help me clear the blessings from the table
Before you kill the lights and walk out that door.

A beautiful, heartfelt tune. It really hits home when you've had someone in your life move on looking for the "greener pastures." Great vocals and some beautiful guitar work.
Enjoyed it very much.
