Description:
This is a funk song about optimism and moving ahead, no matter what.

I've always been a huge fan of bassists Jaco Pastorius and Rocco Prestia, and hopefully this draws a bit on their influences. This song was really fun to record; I hope you play it loud and you find it fun to listen to. It's mixed for speakers, although I think it sounds good through 'phones as well.

(for logistical reasons!) but it sounds damned good to my ears. The bass is sweet, and there is some nice guitar work on here - restrained enough not to overwhelm, but strong enough to hold its own. The lead has a tight, melodic vibe, too. Nice sentiment, and very good sound. Nicely done. Peace.

all for the kind words. This one really took me back one of my great loves - playing funk bass.

I've heard it... &mdash 01/03/08 - 04:44:53 PM
...referred to as "stutter-bass" playing. During the '80s I had to stop listening to Jaco Pastorius for awhile because everyone was imitating him, but now I'm older and don't care if I'm stealing, so what the heck!
