Lyrics
Hinterlands of Ashburn
by Mystified
When you took your soul
To the Hinterlands of Ashburn
And left your shoes of gold at the door
I thought of chicken bones and fairy tales,
Ice crystals, and reflection pools.

When you took your soul
To the Hinterlands of Ashburn,
Nothing that I knew before met my eyes.

Visions and prophecies
Of the Hinterlands of Ashburn
Visions and prophecies
Make your peace, and cross the bridge
To the Hinterlands of Ashburn--

Enlightenment overthrows betrayal.

There upon its shores,
The Hinterlands of Ashburn,
There upon its shores...

Ice crystals and reflection pools
Ice crystals and reflection pools

In the Hinterlands of Ashburn....

Oh my. Is this a way of bringing back our departed mungo? We hope the incantation works. Very ethereal.

Laura Nyro ain't dead!
I actually like this. Or as Mr. Burns said:
"I know what I like Simpson, and I don't HATE this..."

Excellent piece!!!

Chicken Bones
Classic! YOur voice On this is very surreal. I like the almost wisper crispyness of it. I dont know if this makes sense! Very strange but I like strange! Enjoyed this alot!!

thank you
I took a different approach on this song vocally--singing in a very breathy tone--and I love how Bryn mixed it to perfection :D

Appreciate very much the comments here.

twists my brain
I can definitely feel the craft of Mungo in this... a good thing in a twisted way. Cat's singing adds to the sparse music and lyrics... the lyrics are quite evocative and enigmatically ambivalent. This has almost a feel of an old Celtic song, twisted and modernized. The harmonies and progressions were a bit much for this poor classical-relic of a dragon, but that's MY issue. In fact, I can detect some really masterful mixing work, Bryn kept things really sparkly and coldly crystalline sounding.

OOOooooh Interesting sounds
and mad sonics that you have produced. Very nice. I can see why you chose the name esp after listening to all your tracks. Nice one and look forward to hearing more from you both.

No words really do this justice. How amazingly surreal, otherworldly. Mysti's vocals are terrific, the mix is terrific. What a duo!
