I'm actually slightly unnerved &mdash 01/03/08 - 09:09:59 PM
right now! I'm sitting here at the computer, and I'm kind of glancing over my shoulder. Outside, it's a cold day, and the land is covered with snow, but it's not actually snowing, which is good, because I couldn't stand the tension after listening to this! Brother, you have great range, and a fantastic sensibility. This is evocative, expressionist, and - as I say - not a little scary! Great sounds, and clever arrangement. Nice work. Peace.

i haven't seen a good snow squall in a few years - but i sure remember that last one! we were in the car and way down the road you could see this grey fog like thing. my wife and i speculated maybe there was a fire or something...

it slowly moved closer as we watched, and it looked like a wall. everything beyond it was vanishing. at some point we realized what it was and i pulled the car off the road (i didn't want to be in the road when it hit) and we just sat and watched it come.

it was fast. there were a few flakes and then the air was full of snow - you couldn't see anything!

about a minute later it suddenly stopped. it left behind about a 1/4 inch layer of snow. within a few minutes the sun was out.

that's what i tried to express in this song...

thanks

... is for snow here - this makes me even more nervous about it! Evocative and disquieting - thanks for the scares Bill.

Where's my nerve medicine! &mdash 01/04/08 - 03:10:05 PM
Hardly ever snows here, but it does remind me of my buddy who came back from a coon hunt the other night (minus his dog and gun) only to say "Don't know what it was ya'll but it was BIG!"

Great job Smokey

Well &mdash 01/04/08 - 04:44:06 PM
I hope it doesn't snow like that here LOL. Excellent atmospherics you've created in this piece. Good cinematic sound for sure, regards M

although dramatic, a squall can be very brief. the length of this tune is about how long the last squall i saw lasted.

thanks

And you should see the snowman!

I want to tell you how much I enjoyed this but I have been buried alive in a crazy snowstorm and I fear that Frosty is on a murdering rampage if I try and get free.
Great job!

This cool - like really cool &mdash 01/09/08 - 04:56:01 PM
like freezing cold - like chill to the bone - like hoarfrost and visible breath - like failed citrus crops and interstate pile-ups. Like cool. Great scape Smoke.

i could imagine a squall could cause a serious interstate pileup! it's like instant fog in a way.

thanks for your cold comment
