Description:
another song from the basement(remixed) looking for your input etc...

Lyrics:
she goes down on a cool Friday night
underneath those Chicago street lights
she makes her living of guys named john
they don't bring her flowers they don't sing her songs
cause she keeps on working

she left home when she reached womanhood
told her family shes of to Hollywood
shes gonna be a big movie star
get her name engraved on the boulevard
cause she keeps on working

she dont know what shes doing anymore
shes got her back up against a wall thats for sure
everybody says she could have been a beauty queen
I just say to myself that will always remain to be seen

she'll never be
what she wanted to be
well never see her on a picture screen

she's all about pleasing her man
he returns the favour with a back hand
after all this is her roll
she plays her part so dam cold
cause she keeps on working

I like the drums--the energy you've created. You are a great guitarist!

Romantic song... &mdash 01/06/08 - 04:01:03 PM
... about the oldest profession, yes? Overall nice sound, the drums push this baby along. For me there's a little too much fx on the vox (sounds chorused), but otherwise this works great, with a nice structure.

Good work guys

song about &mdash 01/06/08 - 04:34:19 PM
its actually about this girl who used to baby sit my kid then later on in life she became a stripper and the a hooker
were she was eventually killed by a john in Niagara falls Canada she would always talk about being a movie star etc... that's were the song idea originated from there is a little chorus on the voice we put in afterward

I agree with Steve about the vocal effects &mdash 01/06/08 - 04:22:14 PM
The song is very well played and structured - but it feels a little long to me for some reason - I guess I feel like the subject could use a rougher edge that gets in and out faster (pardon the pun).

were not sure what you mean by it seems long after all should nt a song be as long at it needs to be when telling a story
or do you just follow the the old standard lets make a 2 min song vs chorus vs bridge chorus, that has always confussed us just as much as song labels ie rock grunge etc...... sorry if it seems long but it feels good for us

Nice song &mdash 01/07/08 - 06:30:48 AM
Love the rolling, pushing rhythm - it moves along with great verve and energy. The story is sad, but well told, with good turns of phrase and some nice imagery. I like the guitar sound (and the playing!), and the vocals have feeling and depth. Glad to see you back! I look forward to some more new stuff soon. Nice work. Peace.

Sweet &mdash 01/07/08 - 11:56:33 AM
Great Lyrics. Very Beatlesque in some parts. I would like to hear more kick drum. The snare comes through pretty well but the kick sounds like a lower tuned tom or something. The guitar playing and the vocals are great. Great work, bring up the kick and it will be even more of a driving beat!

70's &mdash 01/07/08 - 02:10:16 PM
It's got a real 70's garage band kind of feel for me. The guitars are very warm in an analogue kind of way. I actually like all the effects on the vocals, they give the song an anthem, concert kind of sound. The guitar work is really nice. Good stuff!

yes &mdash 01/08/08 - 03:21:03 PM
Cool construction.

Enough variety in your sections to hold interest all the way through, especially in how you used your guitars.

Effective use of your background vocals and guitar which paraphrases some of the vocal lines. Also liked your guitars independent lines coming in at just the right places.

You got some good ideas here that work, period.

Catchy song. Straight forward rock song with riffs.
Dug this one a lot. I'll have to check out more of your stuff.
Good singing!

Interesting tale.

The lead vocal reminds me a bit of Roger Daltrey.

Kidnap a terrific, slightly crazy drummer... give this tune a bit harder edge... and you'll have a curious Who tune. lol

A very good arrangement and production. Nicely done, guys. ;)

Well done &mdash 01/11/08 - 09:11:14 AM
Thanks for your invitation ... a really nice piece of Classic Rock and I really like your guitar play, too. It sounds all round, but I personally would like to have the mix be a bit heavier (as I am used to listen to harder rock music) and perhaps the drums could benefit from more variation.

Cymbal variations &mdash 01/11/08 - 09:23:23 AM
Lots of great things to say about this. Very nice clarity, energy, vocals. The part that detracts is the usage of cymbals and the load ride. Consider varying the ride to make it sound more human and to place cymbal hits off the accents instead of on. MIDI cymbals can grate when used on the beat. Also, using different cymbals to create a sense of variation might help. Really nice track.

NICE TOUCH &mdash 01/12/08 - 04:59:40 PM
Gtrs and Vocals are Pro.
Great Capture.
Mix is clean and restrained with good balance.
Could have handled more gain on the lead guitar, but, as we know, I'm hard of hearing!
