Okay I know the multipressor is pumpin like crazy but, I was well into it before I noticed it was on HA! (used one of those factory setups and it had it on the master...oops.) I'm trying to learn Logic on a limited number of brain cells.
Anyhow this is my first dive into the loop world. I found this acoustic guitar loop in garageband and well uh................ it just got away from me.

macbook, m-audio 49, and a mic

Hey! &mdash 01/07/08 - 10:02:10 AM
Is that you singing? Cool stuff... this reminds me quite a bit of ZZ Top in that chugging bluesy way. It started off "a little bit too repetitive" with the loop (possibly give some kind of intro hiccup to break it up?) but then it gets going with the guitars and singing and all is grand. Nice chorus, great singing harmonies and song structure, very good electric guitar work. Oh and the lyrics are fun too. A real Woot-n-anny!

Drakonis

Hey there Drak! &mdash 01/07/08 - 03:28:20 PM
Yeah it's me singing, goodlord I haven't tried to sing in so many years I was scared to post it. Sometimes I feel there's a fine line between singing and hollering! I don't really have the voice for this kinda thing but felt I had to go where the loop lead me. Hey thanks so much for all the great comments, I respect your discerning ear. Now the part that bothered you.....I actually had a little vocal harmony thing in the beginning but decided at the last moment I didn't like it. I was also too lazy then to take out the extra bars (actually I was bout sick of the whole thing at that point).
It was fun though.
Thanks again Drak

Great mix &mdash 01/08/08 - 12:00:50 PM
This doesnt sound looped at all. The vocal harmonies are really fabulous, in fact, the track is a real winner - very classy. Nice breaks and sections, and good overall length 9as it were).

Pleased to meetcha!

Thanks Steve &mdash 01/08/08 - 09:08:01 PM
I tried to break it up enough to not sound too looped. Was my first time to use
them so I wanted to try different things. Thanks for the vocal comment, although I kinda slink down over singing. I was scared I had em too high in the mix. Anyhow enough about me! I sure do like that new thing of yours

thanks again for listening

I wish &mdash 01/08/08 - 09:27:36 PM
I had a handle on it. I really know very little about it but, I made myself start and finish a loop project so I could learn more about logic and loops. So do you have logic jim? It's certainly different in a lot of was from other software I've used.

I'm glad you liked it
and thanks for the kind words

Outstanding... &mdash 01/08/08 - 08:07:00 PM
... and outrageously so. The entire song works. The loops background music is mixed perfectly so as to present to the listener (me) the audio appearance of a real band. And your singing is coool... really top notch. But it is the whole concept of this song that is the winner. Great inspiration and that is more than half the battle when creating a tune. Kudos.

Hey Dadai &mdash 01/08/08 - 09:44:59 PM
you are certainly right about the inspiration thing. That little acoustic guitar loop
inspired me enough to take this thing on. Glad it sounds good to you because I value your opinion! I was trying my hardest to make it come off more like a band and not some looped thing. It did require a lot of chopping, sliding and serious penciling though. Hey I have to really want to finish something when I drag out the old mic.......sittin there thinkin I need a vocal on this, you look around the room and there's nobody but you! Yikes! so you do what you gotta do.

Thanks so much Dadai I was beginning to think this thing sucked

no loops here &mdash 01/13/08 - 10:45:20 AM
yeah, i know, you said there were loops, and at the start you can notice them, but pretty soon your tune is cranking and you're singing and i forgot all about loops. excellent tune, man!

thanks

Hey Smokey, &mdash 01/13/08 - 02:21:39 PM
thanks for giving this thing a listen, and I really do appreciate your compliments.
You know I wanted to ask you......is it too late to do another version of the bell?
I just keep hearing another approach that hasn't been covered. I'm not even sure it will work but, I keep hearing it in my head and thought I might try it one day when I have some time. Just wanted to check with you and see if you think it would be okay to try.

Thanks again Mr Smokey

Bell Collab &mdash 01/14/08 - 04:39:40 PM
It's not too late for The Bell collab - I'm going to leave it open indefinitely. It doesn't have to be a holiday song either - anything is welcome. Let me know!

all those nice comments RG. So, you like this one a little better....I'm glad. I certainly do enjoy listening to your songs. You really do have a talent for those
little parts that play off of each other to make something bigger that just feels
good. I try very hard myself, to make that happen.

Once again thanks RG

Robert Palmer on this great number reminds me a little of his 'Addicted to Love'. You really do have a great voice and the keyboard/instruments is/are terrific. I'm one big fan, cheers M

Your use of loops in this song is amazing - you really put 'em together so well, very convincingly.

Good combination of sounds, excellent pacing, and great vocals.

Excellent!

Mr. Droop sir, I really love this. You should stay in the world of loops and do lots lots more. We're enjoying this immensely. Karen
