Description:
This is the second of three tracks that I worked on whilst watching 'Life of Brian' on New Years Eve (just gone).

It bears no resemblance to the subject matter of that film. The two things just coincided.

The mix bears some basic similarity to 'Police State', a mix I uploaded towards the end of 2007. The siren effect is the same in both. The pace though is different.

This mix tries to evoke a long scene in a film where motorized sledges are moving across endless snow fields with very little change in the scenery. Simple really.

You may need to keep the volume relatively down, as in a couple of places, the volume of the piece peaks.

There are some 'additional' annoyances around 4 minutes, but I've no idea what they actually are or where they came from. Hopefully they wont spoil the general ambiance of the piece.

nicely done &mdash 01/07/08 - 05:37:19 PM
this fits the visual you gave perfectly. that rhythm is so tense, perfect for the cold mood that the synths portray. you got some really icy tones; like when the rhythm gets pulled back in the mix for a second and then comes back up (about 3/4 of the way through the song). i could have listened to it longer, but that's what the button at the top is for. excellent Paul.

Thanks Michael....... &mdash 01/10/08 - 02:01:18 PM
I'm happy that someone got the point I was trying to get over in this mix.

I was watching a film about the Middle East, so my stimulation was 'hot' but the sounds I found (to use) were glassy/icy, so I was 'saved'.

Take care.

Paul
