Description:
I don't know. It kind of a depressing song with jazzy undertones. Tell me what you all think of the vocals. I had a little trouble with them. Need a new mic.I'm using a Sennheiser Evolution 835. Is that a good one.....I just don't know.
I found this one today as I was cleaning house. I can't believe that I had totally forgotten about it.
ENJOY!
Lyrics:
Control
Sometimes, I'm confused you try to get me
Sometimes, I am too tired of thinking
Right now, I've come loose my bones are broken
But, everything's in control
Everything's in control
Why do I do it ?
Everything is out of control
Thought of the moment I feel for you
Under the big black wonderful night
Shifting the fire, no time will lapse
We have been waiting for this to start
You get what you want. I use what I got
Thinking of everything I wanted to do
I want...............

Thanks, man &mdash 01/11/08 - 05:31:51 PM
I've heard that Jagger thing a lot about me on this site and I can't believe it it. I never even was muck of a Stones fan. Don't get me wrong, I like the Stones and Mick a lot, but I would have to consider myself a Beatles guy.
Thanks for the compliment.
Stay tuned.
No way this deserves a 10.000

hey Dave &mdash 01/11/08 - 10:05:24 PM
catchy number and nicely composed.
in some way there are those lost tunes between favorite artist albums that pop up here. This is one of those. In my mind it is a song that bridges Magical Mystery Tour and The White Album.
Then again this style and identifiable sound is all you as well. [ Reply to This ]
2 of my favorites &mdash 01/12/08 - 04:21:35 AM
You mentioned two of my favorite albums of all time in your comments. Not just Beatle favorite, but overall favorite.
I really don't deserve that, but thanks for the kind words.
Really glad you enjoyed.

Love the beats on this - what are they? The vocals are good, but slightly muffled or not sharp enough - may be eq. I used shure 58a for ages, but have just been bought a Rode NT1-A.
This is poppy and kinda psychedelic - great track - you're real busy lately! [ Reply to This ]
Yeah, thanks ER &mdash 01/12/08 - 04:18:18 AM
I have a bunch of songs in the can, I just wasn't really able to do much at home for the past year because I didn't have a good internet connection. I had to do everything from work or a buddy's house.
I've decided to post maybe one a week. Don't want to overexpose here.
Thanks again for your honest and helpful critiques.

Cool!! &mdash 01/12/08 - 04:27:49 AM
S**T!, Just do a duplicate take of the lead vox bro or one more obscure vox track. Just my opinion. I LIKE IT A LOT the way it is. Pretty sweet!
Trippy!

I like your opinion &mdash 01/12/08 - 06:38:41 AM
Sometimes, I wished I had more time to finish these things up. I really appreciate the feedback, though. It's always hard to mix/produce your own voice, right?
Thanks for your advice once again.
Well check you out.

nice mix &mdash 01/12/08 - 06:46:56 AM
I wish I could mix like this..not to mention a great melody and song.
What I hear is a good piano part. It stands alone on its own.
This song also reminds me of a Lennon and Jager tune, which is a great
idea. very sellable tune...great job!!!! [ Reply to This ]

I'll say it again. &mdash 01/12/08 - 10:34:53 AM
You've got a strong Julian Lennonish voice and many of your tunes remind me of his work. Not to take away at all from your work as I've said before you write some very cool stuff and again most enjoyed. And about those vocals of yours...........it's all good!

awesome track &mdash 01/12/08 - 06:02:42 PM
this is really nice, love the melodies and chord changes. so psych and good. the vox are great, but they are a little muffled. that outro is great with the strings and the backing vox. great song man, sorry it took me so long to find it. [ Reply to This ]
Muffled &mdash 01/12/08 - 06:06:55 PM
Muffled is the right word to describe the problem with the vocals. I agree.
Thanks for liking the song on general.

The first &mdash 01/13/08 - 05:04:13 AM
thing I noticed is how good the production is on this, great drums/rhythm. I think this is the best I've heard your vocals, I also have great trouble trying to guage my own. Sounding Jaggerish again.
Well written song and very well played. A lovely listen.
Cheers

Great song &mdash 01/14/08 - 06:21:07 AM
Sorry it took me so long to get here! This is terrific. I love the changes throughout the song. Great piano part, and I like the drums - good, thick sound. Backing vocals are terrific near the end there. I know what you mean about trying to get the right vocal sound - it drives me nuts. I use a Shure SM58 and it works for me (I started with a Sony digital mic plugged into MiniDisc player and on into the back of my Powerbook! Hey "I use what I got" as the song says!) Nice one. It's great to have you back and posting regularly. Peace. [ Reply to This ]

Nice production! &mdash 01/14/08 - 02:26:28 PM
Love the sounds of the instrumentation, and your vocals work a treat. I hear Mick, but I also hear the chord changes of the Beatles. Like the drum track - works well with the bass line you've chosen.
Good track!

Alright man &mdash 01/15/08 - 08:55:25 AM
great changes - very cool arrangement and your vocals sound real good. Kinda Flaming Lips - but more old school Floyd/Stones Her Majesty. Excellent! [ Reply to This ]

I'm really impressed with your writing &mdash 01/15/08 - 04:40:08 PM
on this one - wish I could carry a line as far as you can. Everything's cool here - especially the vox and backing vox. Great keyboards and bass too. [ Reply to This ]

You're welcome... &mdash 01/17/08 - 11:50:39 AM
mic &mdash 01/15/08 - 11:28:06 PM
I think that the mic has a pretty narrow EQ range. It seems a little shrill, a little bright in the high-mids but that may just be the EQ. The song definitely has the Jagger moan and the Beatles piano progression sound, but it also transcends both those style in a convincing way.Cool stuff.-P [ Reply to This ]
Always good to &mdash 01/16/08 - 02:57:24 PM
hear from you. I need to focus on the production a little more. Will always listen to you and take your advice.
