Description:
Garageband's song really, which I extended and put a bridge to, wrote some lyrics and sang them. A light comedy little ho-down, Hope you like...
Lyrics:
If someone had told me,Love could make me blue,
I would not have believed it,
I was so in love with you,
With everyday a new day,
Good feelin's all the way.
Then love turned round and bit me,
On the day you went away.
No-one should go through it,
Shouldn't have that pain,
So if your lover leaves you,
Don't feel that you're too blame,
Not if you really loved her,
And she found somebody new,
'Cause sometimes love will bite you,
And leave you feelin' Oh so blue.
Bridge.
Love can be a good thing, rest and be assured,
Only if your lovers wond'rin' ways are cured.
Love can be a good thing, when it's goin' right,
But while you're lovin' an' a kissin',
Just watch out it can bite,
Ad Lib.
I suppose that I was lonely,
When I first lost you,
Then I started thinkin' from a different point of view,
I found a way of living, not sittin' on the shelf,
Life just treats me better,
While I'm livin' by myself,
Life is so much better,
Living on my own,
I can get up close to lunchtime,
Not even answer the phone,
No-one there to tell me
When I'm doin' wrong ( doin wrong?)
Nothing there to bite me,
Unless I bite my own tongue.
No I got no love to bite me,
That's why I wrote this song,
But if you want some lovin'
(And everyone wants some)
Keep your eyes wide open,
Or it'll bite you on the Bum,
Cause sometimes love will bite you, when it does, it ain't no fun.

Moviz
Glad you liked this little ditty LOL. You're a gem yourself, for always supporting and being first with your lovely comments, thanks again and cheers, M
Roxylee
I didn't know you could yodel, too! You never cease to amaze with your all around musical skills. Cool song that shows you can still be upbeat and loopy when they leave.
Moviz
I can't anymore LOL, I'm only pretending LOL. I used to yodel when I was younger and in the 70's as I Performed as a duo. My 'piece de resistance' was Frank Ifield's "She Taught me to Yodel" and my partner suggested that I sing that as part of a big audition we had at a hotel in London. We drove the 200 miles on a hot day and when I tried to sing... not a note came out LOL. My throat was so dry through sitting in the heat in the car that I was spitting feathers and needless to say, we didn't get the job. Thank you for listening though and leaving your nice comment, regards M
Godchaser
Nice groovin' country tune.Fine little tune and love the howlin'!Much enjoyed.
Blessings,
Moviz
Nice to see you here and glad it tickled your fancy LOL, regards M
sloparts
Love that country music how it always tells a story. Great lyrics, awesome back up band and a pretty fair impersonation of a hayseed hillbilly hick, for a Limey. Love you vocal
Love it Maurice, straight download for me. Very cool song Man
Ed
Moviz
If you like this I (being country) then I've really passed the test LOL I'm very pleased you like it, even though I might be the English version of Dick Van Dyke with the reversed accent, (But I think I do a better job than him LOL), Regards M
This is frolicking get down hoe down, love the energy and lyrics in this, good going- there is no genre that you cant conquer - I also like the yodeling.
Moviz
out to conquer them all Tom LOL it's Opera next week so wish me luck LOL, Glad you listened my friend, regards M
heh - Yeee-Hawww! Saw dust on the floor, they're spinnin' the girls around...
way to capture the essence of the C&W
. - Harold
Moviz
Glad you approve. Yes they do, but I think it's in Scotland, because that's the part where C/W abounds, apart from Liverpool as well. Cheers M
pablatone
I do believe that's the first yodel I've heard here at MJ's. That was fun, thanks Moviz
Moviz
It may very well be the first Yodel, but I'll bet it's not the last LOL, Glad it made you smile, Cheers M
Good lyrics and good execution. I do wish you put your lovely voice a bit more clear and upfront in the mix. But it seems to be your forte somewhere. I know alcohol ain't the solution. Ah well, I know I got the attention of some of em;)...so who needs em? Not me! hihihihi
Jb
Moviz
I thought it was quite high in the mix, but maybe the yodel was low. Glad you heard this...... and you're right it's not the answer, cheers M
lengold
Maurice. Jeez... frank Ifield.
Fantastic lyrics and class singing.
Cheers
Len
Moviz
Glad you enjoyed this fun ditty, I enjoyed doing it too, cheers M
The Infinites
Yeah - the magic stuff. Well done for using it, that's what it's there for after all. Your lyrics are great - especially the hilarious, "Love turned round and bit me on the............day you went away" Then the bum line confirms it!
Shades of Willie, but the Frank Ifield ad libs are fantastic!
I'd love a Patsy Cline soundalike to cover this too. Do you think we've got one at MJs?
Well, done Mo, another genre conquered - when are we getting a punk anthem from you? I'm sure you could master that too!
ATB
Jim
Moviz
Yes Magic. I was just looking around saw it and experimented a bit, after venturing in there, but this was too good to pass by, so I grabbed and ran LOL. Thanks for the Willie and Frank references and glad you got that little Bum (can we say that?) inuendo LOL. I might do a Patsy Cline one in the voice transformer , so watch this space LOL ... and as regards Punk I'll just put music to my arguments with the neighbours (joke), Thanks again Jim, cheers M
DWL
Amazing what GB can do!
A rollicking little number and sounds authentic to me :-)
Cheers
Dick
Moviz
Glad you liked this and I just love that steel guitar... just had to find a use for it, Regards M
dajama
A good-humored way to start the day! Good singing, and clever lyrics. You have a great range. The yodeling works perfectly here, I'd say. Last time I heard yodeling was when a Swiss student of mine asked if she could demonstrate the ancient art. We agreed and she let rip. The funniest part was the faces of the other students who hailed from every corner of the globe. I think some of them had never even heard of yodeling. That was a fun graduation! Nicely done. Peace.
Moviz
for the nice comment; glad you enjoyed. I would have liked to have heard her yodelling as it can sound particularly wonderful when a female does it, especially the authentic Swiss yodellers. My yodelling days have long gone, though I could really let rip years ago (you might have read my account of my embarassing yodelling audition above LOL) and as I said to Roxie, I was only 'pretending' here, cheers M
estellie
I say you get to practicing your yodels and give us a yodeling song!
I've always wanted to yodel, but alas. Someday.
Moviz
Estelle (nice name), the more I use my voice these days the less it functions LOL not like when I was young and practice made it better. Nice of you to listen and leave a comment here, Thanks again M
Dennis James
....straight outa Texas, 1947.
And LOL to your mention of Frank Ifield down the page here...thought I was the only one to remember him. But then I'm from Oz and you're from UK...doubt if the Americans on here are too familiar with the phenomena.
And thanks for all your recent comments, mate.
Dennis
Moviz
my reply to your comment is a couple down, cheers M
Mcboy
toe tappin fun ......love u r voice on this ......ur a natural country singer......woohoooooo........fun track man.....!
Moviz
McBoy, thanks for the nice comments, really appreciate them, Regards M
Moviz
me Sir! There was I thinking you were somewhere smack bang in the middle of America, then you say you're an Ausie LOL. Thanks for listening to this one and glad you approve. That's nice from a talent like you. They all seem to know of Frank Ifield here and he did go to live there quite early on. I recall seeing a Documentary some years ago which said he was producing and performing in the States, but yes I was a teenager when he hit the scene big in the UK, regards M
ktb
Maurice, a real treat. Solid, clean country flavor shining through. Your vocal captures the essence of country hoe down. Phrasing and lyrics were spot on. The music has loops? flawless!
Moviz
More vocal acrobatics from yours truly and I'm pleased you enjoyed this, Regards M
guitapick
...these loops are gonna put a lot of us outta work...sounds really fine, Maurice...well put together, very clever lyrics...cool stuff...
Moviz
Thanks for the comment but GB did most of the early work. I think there'll always be a need for live guitarists... ..if it's just to make loops for us lazy so and so's LOLOL, regards M
Ibstrat
always put me in a good mood.Sounds like a real band-your vocals are perfect...lyrics are great.Nice job!
Moviz
Nice that I can do that; made my day, all the best M
Moviz
That's nice to hear.... if I make just one person happy.... well you know what I mean, thanks again, Maurice
Heightened
minds think alike little doggy. But your song is so immensely better than mine that I'm tempted to take it down.
Moviz
Your song is fine but in another vein so just leave it where it is please, mine is not 'better at all, just different, but that's very flattering that you say that, cheers M
digitalnirvana9
Great song Maurice! Was that Magic GB for the backgrounds? If so it was good to hear a song which used it so masterfully.....Your talent appears to have no boundaries!.....Can hardly wait to hear the Opera! I'm beginning to suspect your last name should be spelled with a W instead of a V ;-) ......Best of luck, Norman
Moviz
I just had to have it LOL. My talents do have boundaries believe me they are practicaly on crutches now..... and er.. the Opera may be a while in coming LOL, regards M
caroline
the distant bells and stars that fell!! great stuff - thank you so much - yum
Moviz
I remember those things too LOL. Nice to hear from you and pleased that you liked this. My ancestors were from around your way in 1600's, cheers M
J.A.Stewart
Do you have to get bitten on the bum to do that yodeling, Maurice? LOL
Back in the early '80s, American TV was inundated with ads for Country singer Slim Whitman's albums, which often featured his elegant falsetto slides and yodeling.
Amazing that you have this technique in your bag of tricks. I won't even attempt to yodel... I'm afraid I might hurt myself. ;)
Nice job, Maurice... HEE-HAW!!!
--- Joe
Moviz
Joe, it's not absolutely necessary, but it depends who's doing the biting LOL. I loved Slim Whitman's voice and the last timeI bought a record of him was "Darling Happy Anniversary-eee"( you get my drift LOL)in the 70's when I did a little DJ'ing for parties etc. As I've said before, these vocal acrobatics are quickly fading these days, so I was surprised when I reached into the bag for this one and there it was in the corner. cheers M
damiengh
Wow. This is really taking loops to the limits. You sound like a real cowboy or a session musician in Nashville.........Yeeeeeeeeeee.......Hawwwwwwwwwww!
Thanks for exposing this side of yourself, it's rich!
Moviz
Damiengh, glad you liked it and as for exposing myself.... you ain't seen nothin' yet LOL (I hope), cheers M
rtcooper
THE Package.
Totally On It.
Chet Atkins-type Amusing sense of Humor.
Love it.
appreciation and regards,

Moviz
Appreciated Cooper and I think you certainly could touch it. Thanks for the listen and the comment, regards M
buckhorn
Put a big fat smile on my face, and thats no easy task. I've thought about living alone, but Im sure I would resemble the fellow in the picture in no time. For now I'll salve my bite marks. Cheers
Moviz
that happened Mathew keep smiling all the way and I'm fighting all the way not to look like the guy in the pic too LOL, but it's surprising that a lot of guys do when they're on their own. Yes I had a bite mark once... never let it happen again though LOL, cheers M
rtcooper
I Find this Really well-written.
But one amazing thing that I missed until I read along with the lyrics is the AD LIB, as you put it, which I thought, for sure, was a full-on design element.
That's Wit!
-rtc
Moviz
What you call 'wit' is also called 'Thinking on my feet' as it were LOL. I didn't know beforehand that I was going to attempt a yodel, but I reached for it and the result you can hear, cheers M.
Einarus
Is it possible to listen to this and not smile?
I think not...
I can't do it, anyway. I'm tappin' my toes and grinnin' like a 'who knows what' right now.
A very fun and enjoyable listen!
-Einar S.
Moviz
that it made you smile so much and it is a toe tapper I must admit. Glad you enjoyed it so much, regards M
thetiler
I'm getting a Jerry Reed feel on this plus the country steel guitar fits in like a glove, how you did that I am not sure, but very surprising.
Funny ending as well.
So glad I ran into this thing, I am hearing a lot of pro country sound here in you vocal as well.
Are you sure your not some country star that gave up the Nashvlle scene and mozied on up to Macjams?
Your making country sounds and Macjams is listening, how good is that?
i see posts of country and people stay away like the plague, so far you have received 25 fans including me. I think that is a first for down home country.
Wow, Movis
Amazing! Really
Way to go
Moviz
I'm not familiar with Jerry Reed, but I'll go look for him. I wish I was a country star LOL (song title?) those are really nice remarks Bill and I thank you for your support always. The backing is all GB loops my only 'input' is the singing and lyrics, which I originally was singing as a blues with my guitar. I know what you're saying about people whizzing by the C/W songs, but I've done a couple now and had quite a few callers and there are some great C/W performers here, like Sloparts and Dennis James who get their fair share of support too. Thanks again for your nice generous remarks, which are most appreciated, regards M
craft
happy song!! Nice vocals and great song creation...
Moviz
Thanks for dropping in: glad you took time to listen and leave a comment, Cheers M
bud
and excellent vocals - what a hoot - you did a great job with this one - I'm really impressed - yodeling and all.
Moviz
for the call Bud, glad you enjoyed the laugh, regards M
Nick_Flash
This has a great feel to it and made me smile in all the right parts. One of the best parts of making music is just having fun and not having to be too serious all the time.
Great work M
Moviz
we all need to have a laugh at sometime and it pleases me that it worked for you. Thanks a load for listening and leaving your card, regards M
Leon
Someone in the forum said you weren't.... well this song disproves that! This has about as much youth and energy as achy breaky heart, and I really meant that in the most positive way, 'cause yeah I did love that song LOL! Moviz, this song is vibrant and electric, and although this is country, you ROCK!
Moviz
Nice to see you around again. That's a very nice compliment and I do appreciate it. Hmmm! The oldest 'Whippersnapper ' in town LOLOL( Sounds like a song title). Thank you for dropping in and also for 'Faving' my last song 'Bolivia to Peru'. Hope to be hearing some nice trills from yourself soon, regards M
Scott Carmichael
that there isn't enough yodeling on MJ when I heard this... authentic vibe here... fun post... very cool... I could have sworn that you were a UK brother... but there 's some Texas 2 step in you... just enough cheese for the lactose tolerant...
thanx for that.. i enjoyed completely
Moviz
I must be a Texas 'blood brother' LOL Nice compliments there and it's nice that people over the pond can accept my little contribution as if it were one of their own. Maybe the yodeling comes from when I was young and there quite a few professional yodelers about... a couple in my family too, regards M
Joanna
The yodeling really puts it over the top for me. Loved it! This is so jaunty and fun. Great vocals and yeah, gotta love that yodeling!
Moviz
of you to call in Joanna and listen to this. Glad you like that little embellishment I added too.... it was just put in as a little filler as I sang along, but it's been quite a success, thanks again Regards M
bonnieprincejohnny
Trrrippy. Mo have you ever considered... and I've no idea where you hail from - but singing in your localised venacular. You have a quality voice and I'd luv to hear it in it's raw nakedness. Be cool.
Moviz
Thanks for listening and the comment. No, you don't want to hear me sing in the local vernacular, because I'm from Wigan, Lancs. I think George Formby was the last one to sing with that accent, although I've never spoken as broad as he did, cheers M
you deliver some great vocals, singing some really classic country lyrics.... slipping along throughout the song! Kudos to you, ya ole fart! ;)
D
Moviz
First time I've been called that Jack LOL. Thanks for the compliments though and glad you enjoyed the song and lyrics too, regards M
echoroom
i'm gonna play this to Rachel next time we argue - this reminds me f the stuff i used to hear on the lunchtime Jimmy Saville show as a kid - classic!
Moviz
glad you listened and liked, but you do know that women never give in, so it's no use issuing threats LOL, cheers M
Maurice! You excelled on the production for this one. Great sound for a really fun tune! Take a bow my friend!
Be well!
Moviz
I'd better not Bow or my back might 'GO' again LOL, thanks for the listen, regards M
An instant hit you got here! Get your horse and cowboy hat this is great I like the doop do do dip do do"s! Always a bright light shinin on the Moviz page!
Moviz
that your smiling along there EB and thanks for that nice comment, must be all the smiles making the light, cheers M
lavalamp
Country-Western at it's finest. Kinda' a B. Daylan feel.
Great!
Dave
Moviz
for looking in David, and glad you approve, cheers M
lavalamp
Dylan, not Daylan.
Warren Smith
A rollicking clever little meditation on the vicissitudes of love.
I like that thought that a kiss can sometimes bite : >
Those frolicing guitar licks are absolutely delightful - especially the one that comes in after the yodel. It is amazing what you can do with GarageBand.
Moviz
I like those slide 'licks' too (guitar of course) as well as the kisses, but watch out for those bites LOL, regards M
John Stebbe
This is a great country song. Nice drumbeat, just right. Love the slide guitar. Reminds me of Barbara Mandrell. Humorous lyrics. Love the yodeling! I love it where the drums stop, and let the slide guitar take a little solo inbetween phrases.
Moviz
liked this, John, as well as the yodeling... it does add to the atmosphere along with that slide. Thank you for listening, cheers M
Bob Rodgers
like country music especially when it's as good as this! This is a lovely song with wonderful lyrics and the yodelling is great, it all fits so perfectly! Love your vocals too, I enjoyed this very much and a great sound!
Moviz
Thank you for listening to this and for your very welcome comments. Glad you liked my song, regards M
Heightened
what I'm talking about!
Moviz
never a dull moment with my duckin' an' divin' LOL, thanks again H, cheers M
Very great song Mr. Maurice, it has been really long time to listen to your lovely vocal. This is truly amazing, the music bed is very nice and as always your great vocal abilities. Thanks a lot for sharing.

Great lyrics Maurice, quite original (except for the instrumental) =P You're yodeling is great, but then again, everything you seem to do musically is great. See you later!
-Chris
Moviz
That's a great comment, really nice of you and I really appreciate it, regards M

Moviz

Great song this. love the animation too.
Moviz
so much for dropping in to listen, much appreciated, regards M
Damroze
And I love your old prospectors singing voice. The beat keeps rolling along like the orange blossom special and even some yodeling thrown in for dessert.
If Country radio sounded more like this, I might even listen to it.
Moviz
I never expected a new comment way back here LOL, but I'm glad I took a look-see. Glad too that you like the 'Old Prospector' voice (Couldn't have described it better)., Thanks a lot for taking a listen and for your comment Damroze, regards M
