Keywords:
Better (4)love (945)lonely (44)song (191)bite (5)bum (10)kissin' (1) ()
Description:
Garageband's song really, which I extended and put a bridge to, wrote some lyrics and sang them. A light comedy little ho-down, Hope you like...

Lyrics:
If someone had told me,
Love could make me blue,
I would not have believed it,
I was so in love with you,
With everyday a new day,
Good feelin's all the way.
Then love turned round and bit me,
On the day you went away.

No-one should go through it,
Shouldn't have that pain,
So if your lover leaves you,
Don't feel that you're too blame,
Not if you really loved her,
And she found somebody new,
'Cause sometimes love will bite you,
And leave you feelin' Oh so blue.
Bridge.
Love can be a good thing, rest and be assured,
Only if your lovers wond'rin' ways are cured.
Love can be a good thing, when it's goin' right,
But while you're lovin' an' a kissin',
Just watch out it can bite,
Ad Lib.

I suppose that I was lonely,
When I first lost you,
Then I started thinkin' from a different point of view,
I found a way of living, not sittin' on the shelf,
Life just treats me better,
While I'm livin' by myself,

Life is so much better,
Living on my own,
I can get up close to lunchtime,
Not even answer the phone,
No-one there to tell me
When I'm doin' wrong ( doin wrong?)
Nothing there to bite me,
Unless I bite my own tongue.

No I got no love to bite me,
That's why I wrote this song,
But if you want some lovin'
(And everyone wants some)
Keep your eyes wide open,
Or it'll bite you on the Bum,
Cause sometimes love will bite you, when it does, it ain't no fun.

Why, Maurice! &mdash 01/12/08 - 06:40:57 PM
I didn't know you could yodel, too! You never cease to amaze with your all around musical skills. Cool song that shows you can still be upbeat and loopy when they leave.

Why Roxie! &mdash 01/12/08 - 07:09:46 PM
I can't anymore LOL, I'm only pretending LOL. I used to yodel when I was younger and in the 70's as I Performed as a duo. My 'piece de resistance' was Frank Ifield's "She Taught me to Yodel" and my partner suggested that I sing that as part of a big audition we had at a hotel in London. We drove the 200 miles on a hot day and when I tried to sing... not a note came out LOL. My throat was so dry through sitting in the heat in the car that I was spitting feathers and needless to say, we didn't get the job. Thank you for listening though and leaving your nice comment, regards M

Love that country music how it always tells a story. Great lyrics, awesome back up band and a pretty fair impersonation of a hayseed hillbilly hick, for a Limey. Love you vocal

Love it Maurice, straight download for me. Very cool song Man

If you like this I (being country) then I've really passed the test LOL I'm very pleased you like it, even though I might be the English version of Dick Van Dyke with the reversed accent, (But I think I do a better job than him LOL), Regards M

Good lyrics and good execution. I do wish you put your lovely voice a bit more clear and upfront in the mix. But it seems to be your forte somewhere. I know alcohol ain't the solution. Ah well, I know I got the attention of some of em;)...so who needs em? Not me! hihihihi

Hi JB &mdash 01/14/08 - 05:56:59 AM

Great use of GB, Mo &mdash 01/14/08 - 02:11:22 AM
Yeah - the magic stuff. Well done for using it, that's what it's there for after all. Your lyrics are great - especially the hilarious, "Love turned round and bit me on the............day you went away" Then the bum line confirms it!

Shades of Willie, but the Frank Ifield ad libs are fantastic!

I'd love a Patsy Cline soundalike to cover this too. Do you think we've got one at MJs?

Well, done Mo, another genre conquered - when are we getting a punk anthem from you? I'm sure you could master that too!

Hi Jim.. &mdash 01/14/08 - 06:08:12 AM
Yes Magic. I was just looking around saw it and experimented a bit, after venturing in there, but this was too good to pass by, so I grabbed and ran LOL. Thanks for the Willie and Frank references and glad you got that little Bum (can we say that?) inuendo LOL. I might do a Patsy Cline one in the voice transformer , so watch this space LOL ... and as regards Punk I'll just put music to my arguments with the neighbours (joke), Thanks again Jim, cheers M

A good-humored way to start the day! Good singing, and clever lyrics. You have a great range. The yodeling works perfectly here, I'd say. Last time I heard yodeling was when a Swiss student of mine asked if she could demonstrate the ancient art. We agreed and she let rip. The funniest part was the faces of the other students who hailed from every corner of the globe. I think some of them had never even heard of yodeling. That was a fun graduation! Nicely done. Peace.

Thanks Dave &mdash 01/14/08 - 06:53:08 AM
for the nice comment; glad you enjoyed. I would have liked to have heard her yodelling as it can sound particularly wonderful when a female does it, especially the authentic Swiss yodellers. My yodelling days have long gone, though I could really let rip years ago (you might have read my account of my embarassing yodelling audition above LOL) and as I said to Roxie, I was only 'pretending' here, cheers M

And LOL to your mention of Frank Ifield down the page here...thought I was the only one to remember him. But then I'm from Oz and you're from UK...doubt if the Americans on here are too familiar with the phenomena.

And thanks for all your recent comments, mate.

me Sir! There was I thinking you were somewhere smack bang in the middle of America, then you say you're an Ausie LOL. Thanks for listening to this one and glad you approve. That's nice from a talent like you. They all seem to know of Frank Ifield here and he did go to live there quite early on. I recall seeing a Documentary some years ago which said he was producing and performing in the States, but yes I was a teenager when he hit the scene big in the UK, regards M

*Slim* Moviz &mdash 01/16/08 - 09:08:52 AM
Do you have to get bitten on the bum to do that yodeling, Maurice? LOL

Back in the early '80s, American TV was inundated with ads for Country singer Slim Whitman's albums, which often featured his elegant falsetto slides and yodeling.

Amazing that you have this technique in your bag of tricks. I won't even attempt to yodel... I'm afraid I might hurt myself. ;)

Nice job, Maurice... HEE-HAW!!!

[ Reply to This ]
Ha Ha &mdash 01/16/08 - 03:30:15 PM
Joe, it's not absolutely necessary, but it depends who's doing the biting LOL. I loved Slim Whitman's voice and the last timeI bought a record of him was "Darling Happy Anniversary-eee"( you get my drift LOL)in the 70's when I did a little DJ'ing for parties etc. As I've said before, these vocal acrobatics are quickly fading these days, so I was surprised when I reached into the bag for this one and there it was in the corner. cheers M

THE GIFT OF WIT &mdash 01/16/08 - 05:09:44 PM
I Find this Really well-written.
But one amazing thing that I missed until I read along with the lyrics is the AD LIB, as you put it, which I thought, for sure, was a full-on design element.

That's Wit!

I'm getting a Jerry Reed feel on this plus the country steel guitar fits in like a glove, how you did that I am not sure, but very surprising.
Funny ending as well.
So glad I ran into this thing, I am hearing a lot of pro country sound here in you vocal as well.
Are you sure your not some country star that gave up the Nashvlle scene and mozied on up to Macjams?

Your making country sounds and Macjams is listening, how good is that?

i see posts of country and people stay away like the plague, so far you have received 25 fans including me. I think that is a first for down home country.

Wow, Movis

Amazing! Really
Way to go

Hi Bill, &mdash 01/17/08 - 04:39:25 AM
I'm not familiar with Jerry Reed, but I'll go look for him. I wish I was a country star LOL (song title?) those are really nice remarks Bill and I thank you for your support always. The backing is all GB loops my only 'input' is the singing and lyrics, which I originally was singing as a blues with my guitar. I know what you're saying about people whizzing by the C/W songs, but I've done a couple now and had quite a few callers and there are some great C/W performers here, like Sloparts and Dennis James who get their fair share of support too. Thanks again for your nice generous remarks, which are most appreciated, regards M
