Description:
Another piece from the Arachnidzone World Collaboration Project. This is the first 'issue' to be covered. Very happy to have worked with the extensive talent of Apath (Stefanie Sass) of Germany on this wonderful, thought and image provoking track of what I think theatrical quality. Have a listen as this is still open to tweaking and is subject to Steffi's fine tuning and tweaking requests.

Thanks, Must admit loving this tune deep to the core, I admit that Apath is the artist behind the track, I gave her an inspirational sample with the jet/thunder SFX, basic beat and the title 'Storm of War' what she came back with blew me away! The final mix is my production and arrangement as are the few bits of music on top of Apaths piano and violin and also Apath's lyrics and vocals. the metaphoric story she tells of signifying modern warfare. Yes, i definitely thought a good Epic movie, add-on for The Elder Scrolls, or something like that.
It may get better as getting animators and film makers involved in the project now so maybe a video soon!

OK, so the musical composition here is really quite delicious, enjoyed the just-in-time jumping key signatures, and the romantic writing for violin & piano... but I must admit that Stefanie really stole the show here and did a stunning job playing violin & singing... Lyrics were very good, as was the piano work. I was trying to guess at the language spoken at the beginning, and although it sounds almost Slavic, I am guessing it is Tolkien-based? Very nice work here you two!

The language is Stefanie Sass's own. I pointed her to an Elven dictionary and she agreed it was beautiful. I did plan to write an elven piece for her but never got around to it. If anyone can find the english-elfish dictionary online and would like to write the lyrics please please do. Im very busy with other stuff at the moment as all is coming together for our impending emigration later this year. Some of you know that once im there i will be living deep in the rainforests of Borneo and although we will have solar powered satellite internet we will be very busy for some time. Never say never though on the music project as i would like to record music, poetry and singing from the Kelabit people who are the small indigenous group we will be living with. I also want to diversify their singing and music to different genres so on a long-term basis. watch this space! :) [ Reply to This ]
