lost love....

Lyrics:
Blues Still Come My Way

Here I am again
Staring at the walls
With no one by my side
There’s no one here at all

I’m alone again
Bad luck’s here to stay
My life’s gotta change
But blues still come my way

You walked out the door
And left my heart a breakin’
I begged you lover stay
But you slammed the door and walked away

Here I am again
Walking empty halls
With no one by my side
There’s no one here at all

Welcome to Macjams, very nice entry piece. Very sweet guitar work, and I like the soft fragile singing. My suggestion on the mix might be to bring the brightness up a little on the guitars, and to add a teeny bit of reverb to the voice... because the guitars are slightly muffled and the voice is a little "dry", it keeps them sounding "separate", exposing the fact that they are recorded separately... they need to melt together a little more. But overall, a soft broken lullaby. Nice!

Drakonis

Thanks for the comments on Blues Still Come My Way. I appreciate the eq/reverb suggestions.

Yes, I played the instruments and my wife Laurie sang.

Glad I found this site and happy to be a new member.

I went to your broadjam page &mdash 01/15/08 - 05:19:57 PM
and I urge everyone here to do the same. Your wife's vocals here (and in all the songs of yours I've heard) are something else! She clearly has a lot of deep control, but the net effect is of deeply affecting fragility. The playing and production are very, very good; I'm a total fan.
Looking forward to more,

good posting &mdash 01/15/08 - 08:11:18 PM
I would agree that the mix does sound like it needs a LITTLE tweaking to make it sound like a complete whole especially in this day and age of a lot of listeners doing their primary listening on headphones of some sort.

It is a minor complaint on my part about a song that otherwise is a very strong presentation.

I really appreciate the feedback. I particularly like getting the mix/engineering suggestions. I feel that mixing and mastering are my areas that need the most improvement. Thanks. Rick

What a beautiful voice and the instrumentation works so well. Powerful bass and clean guitar. Very good song!
