Description:
I wrote this song when I graduated college. I was home alone all day looking for a job that I got to the point of feeling I'll take any job and run with it. Just start living life and see where I go. My parents were also upset with me. So singing my feelings was one way of dealing with the pressure.

Lyrics:
Looking out the window what do I see?
A reflection of me, looking sad
Everyone’s gone and I’m all that’s left
I’m alone and down and waiting for a chance

Somebody give me a chance so I
Can take it and run away
Follow my heart that’s all they say to me
But that’s what I’m trying to do.
For you it takes time I’ll get there soon.

I was led to believe this would all be easy.
I’d go out I’d get it I’d be on my way
But still I’m waiting and there’s been no reply
So what do I do in the mean time?

Somebody give me a chance so I
Can take it and run away
Follow my heart that’s all they say to me
But that’s what I’m trying to do.

What if it never happens what if I get lost?
When will I get the chance to become what I want?

I think now what I have to do is do it for myself.
If you don’t like me then I know some else will love me.
I don’t want to fight I don’t want to rush it just let me be
I’m out in this world and it’s just me.

Somebody give me a chance so I
Can take it and run away
Follow my heart that’s all they say to me
But that’s what I’m trying to do.
For you it takes time I’ll get there soon.
For me

Very Marketable... &mdash 09/20/04 - 04:35:29 PM
Eventhough this is not my favorite genre, it doesn't
take a rocket scientist to figure out that you have a
marketable sound. With a smidge of polish from a
production standpoint, and the right marketing,
you'd sell like hotcakes.
You already have that sought after pop sound with
the added bonus of being a mature lyricist. Love the
vocal control and range of almost jazz crossover on
this song. Especially during the chorus. Harmonizing
needs a lower end, IMHO. The piano/vocal breaks are
sweet, tight, and strong. And if you sandwich the
song with a soft slower tempo piano backed whisper
to bring the piece full circle it might add a nice
professional finishing touch. First song I've heard
from you and you show up at MJs with a bang! Well
done Sarah. Straight 8s!

nice song, great vocals. love when you let loose and belt. you have a wonderful edge. sing it! nice harmonies in the bridge, too. but the track snips off the ending...

captured it! &mdash 10/18/04 - 08:07:02 AM
i feel you've captured the doubtful waiting hopeful feeling
so well in this peice. I love the way you have shared
yourself so much and your revelations. It was very relevant
for us here tonight. The multi layers of your voice is
beautiful. Looks like you've found your heart :D

Again.... &mdash 12/04/04 - 10:03:37 AM
...very good at what you do. I like how you work the vocals against those piano loops that have been used by everybody, including myself. It adds much new life to them.
Like this tune much!

Nice voice! Reminds me a bit of Jewel. The percussion
seems a bit too harsh for your style.

sweet voice &mdash 05/09/05 - 12:45:32 PM
you sound like you have a lot of power vocally. I hear it surge a few times during this song. You have a sweet voice with a unpolished sound that feels very real like you stood up in the room and began singing. Very nice. The music you chose fits it well.
