Take It and Run

I wrote this song when I graduated college. I was home alone all day looking for a job that I got to the point of feeling I'll take any job and run with it. Just start living life and see where I go. My parents were also upset with me. So singing my feelings was one way of dealing with the pressure.

Looking out the window what do I see?
A reflection of me, looking sad
Everyone’s gone and I’m all that’s left
I’m alone and down and waiting for a chance

Somebody give me a chance so I
Can take it and run away
Follow my heart that’s all they say to me
But that’s what I’m trying to do.
For you it takes time I’ll get there soon.

I was led to believe this would all be easy.
I’d go out I’d get it I’d be on my way
But still I’m waiting and there’s been no reply
So what do I do in the mean time?

Somebody give me a chance so I
Can take it and run away
Follow my heart that’s all they say to me
But that’s what I’m trying to do.

What if it never happens what if I get lost?
When will I get the chance to become what I want?

I think now what I have to do is do it for myself.
If you don’t like me then I know some else will love me.
I don’t want to fight I don’t want to rush it just let me be
I’m out in this world and it’s just me.
