Well done dear &mdash 01/16/08 - 01:40:47 PM
Now then, didn't I tell you the Muses had something lined up for you just round the corner? :)
It's especially lovely where the didge comes in a bit stronger and creates that kind of sonic weaving, in and out of the guitar notes.
I bet nobody can hear any "fuzz" on the didge except you and the little perfectionist who lives in your head.
Great to see you collabing and posting again! [ Reply to This ]
*BLUSH* &mdash 01/16/08 - 01:51:02 PM
You my dear as always are far too kind... but thanks muchly anyways.
Awww the Muses they all be sweet and kind lately. Muse Ritual will be getting active in the next week as well.
Ohhh knowing some of these ears out here at good ol' macjams 1.0 Im willing to bet many hear it. My AU that I usually use for fluffing up the chunky edges seems to have gone all weird... soon as thats fixxed or as soon as I get a non fuzzy take, Ill feel much better :) (Id beat that little perfectionist a bit some but Im sure she'd like that lol )
About time for a meeting I believe??? [ Reply to This ]
I'm achin' fer some more Didge! &mdash 01/16/08 - 04:14:52 PM
And then... out of the mist, you return! Good to hear you back, and your friend Gary's got a good guitar & percussion vibe going here, a sweet collab indeed. I always love your atmospheric didge-a-dditions... and I hope this means we will be hearing more from you again? Hmm? Good!

Thanks you so much for stopping in, Drak! Yes much more to come... should be an extremely prolific month or two ahead of me. Gary and his family took me in when we around 17 or 18 and we used to hang out with local musicians all the time. I remember writing lyrics like mad a few times but didnt play anything. Gary would play his guitar though... and Id be all envious :) . Its really really sweet that i can play with him now after all this time. More collabs on the way with this buddy ol' pal O' mine. Thanks for listening my friend, it means a lot to me:) [ Reply to This ]
Good to see you back at MJ Jason &mdash 01/17/08 - 01:48:29 PM
A nice little piece - your didge makes this work, although the little cyclic chord pattern that Garry is playing works beautifully to me. If a nit was to be picked, it would be the volume of the maracca - dropping it back might lift the other instruments. The fx-ed didge sounds great. Did my CD ever arrive?

Oh man... Neil.. &mdash 01/18/08 - 09:21:14 AM
I am standing all chagrined, I really thought I had written you and thanked you profusely! I got it , I love it and so do many friends :) Was a total honour so many many thanks for the opportunity and if you ever ever need me again, dont hesitate!
Yes.. I agree about the maracas... either laying further back in the mix or softened some how or another.
Always a pleasure to have you drop by my friend.. always :) [ Reply to This ]
This is very nice &mdash 01/17/08 - 08:13:06 PM
Love the mellow vibe. Nice guitar pattern (although I'd raise it in the mix a bit), and lovely percussion. The effected didge sounds terrific. Can't say I hear the fuzziness you mention. This is a really nice track, and I love the story behind it. Glad I stopped by. Nice work, man. Peace. [ Reply to This ]
Awwww :) &mdash 01/18/08 - 09:30:06 AM
Thanks muchly for stopping by and for the wonderful comments. Playing didge over this kind of song is bread and butter to me. Its easy to just lay back in the groove and pop it up and in every now and trouble is recording and then balancing out live didge is soooo hard for me. I usually balance out all the fuzzy/feedback bits in AUMatrixReverb but it seems to be hating my didge tracks now... gonna have to figure it out some ways or another because the visualizer and 32 band eq arent doing it :( .
Think I need to get Gary to up his guitar and back the maracas down in his original mix down... he has such a soul!
Its a real treat to have you stop in and thanks so much for lending an ear and some time :) [ Reply to This ]
Great Piece! &mdash 01/17/08 - 09:11:30 PM
I really like this; the didge sounds are well woven with the guitar. Nice pickin too. Great story, thanks.

Ive moved around so much through out my life that I had only one friend Ive known since my teens... now I have two at least. We plan on doing many more collabs as well.
Thank you for stopping by and for the nice comment, glad you liked it and Ill pass it along to Gary. [ Reply to This ]
Hope you do &mdash 01/23/08 - 06:48:45 AM
some more collaborations. The combination works really well... I'd tend to agree that the maracca is a tiny bit too loud but it does help give the piece a nice rhythmic feel.

Heya Peter! &mdash 01/24/08 - 10:45:28 AM
Thanks for stopping in and giving it a listen!
I agree with everyone about the shaker/maraca... not sure if its a bit too loud or the shaker is just a bit to sharp... but that would be the first thing to rework.. that and a redo of the didge track for the first half so I can bring it up some in the mix.
Gary and I plan on working together more, without a doubt.. whats really crazy is he got me in touch with another friend of ours from the same era.. This guys band was my first real band that I got to hang out with and they really had an effect on me... yes we're probably going to collab as well! LOL! Its a wild trip for me because I didnt play anything back then just had a knack for lyrics. Kind of an undreaming coming true!
Thanks again! [ Reply to This ]
cool story &mdash 01/23/08 - 06:23:44 PM
