Description:
After Posting this the first time, I have got it mixed by a guy that knows a lot more about mixing then i do. I believe the mix is much warmer and fuller sounding as it is now.

Lyrics:
I should never have met you
I always believed in what I do
Your stupidity makes me angry
Where’s the patience I thought was inside of me
The anger I feel should not be allowed
Even If was to judge
There is always a reason for the way you behave
I shouldn’t be wondering why you are digging your grave

Why Am I so bitter and cold
When I should be looking
For roses
Where roses cannot grow

I should never answered
What I was thinking, deep inside
The answer you heard didn’t help you
It caused sadness and made you realize
The way you behave make you worthless
Even if you are to judge
The reasons you have doesn’t matter at all
When someone is crying Because of the lifes that you’ve stole

Why Am I so bitter and cold
When I should be looking
For roses
Where roses cannot grow

Caroline's right - it's great to hear you again.
And you sound terrific!

The mix is quite full and warm and your performance is even warmer.
One of your best, I must say.

The lyrics for the chorus are wonderful. They pretty much say it all. Great tune all the way around.

I still really enjoy this, Magnus... &mdash 01/17/08 - 08:02:02 PM
You write a great melody...And you use waltz time...Good man...

And you can juxtapose almost-cliche lines against sharply etched acid lines, and balance a sweetness and a yearning against an anger...

And always what feels to me like a painstaking honesty as well...

I'm always pleased when there's a new song notice from you, even if it's a new mix...

Love it! Some of your best lyrics Magnus! "When someone is crying because of the lies that you've stole." Great line! Very nice chorus also. Roses have been used in song lyrics many times but I don't think I have heard anyone else do it quite the way that you did.

Your rhythm guitar playing is solid as usual and your voice crackles with passion. A real song by a very real person.

A nice song &mdash 01/18/08 - 06:12:07 AM
borne out of emotion it seems, according to the good lyrics and the tone in your vocal. I like the guitar playing too and the rhythm takes it nicely along, regards M

...since I've visited a Selters Tune ... glad I found this one ... lovely singing .... nice feel to the guitar .... the harmonica is a nice touch ... I could hear a "hint" of a harmony vocal in the chorus .... it could be turned up a notch I think ....

the guitar &mdash 01/22/08 - 03:01:03 PM
has a nice bounce to it, like that slight harmonica in the other ear as well. Nice folk tune. The feel of this tunes really brings me back to the 60's in a way.

Thanks for sharing

hmmm &mdash 01/22/08 - 09:47:02 PM
I think I like the other mix of this song. The vocal seems so much more present in the older version. The guitar sounds fuller on this, for sure, but there seems to be a slight phasing sound going on that makes the voice seem distant. And in something this personal and direct in terms of lyrics and sentiment, it would be great to have that reflected in the sound of the vocal. The sound seems to be panning around in an odd way, but maybe I'm just dizzy. But this is sort subjective, of course, the song is pretty great. Reminds me of a Bright Eyes' sort of song. The "your stupidity makes me angry" line is pretty jarring, in a good way.

mocking &mdash 03/21/08 - 11:39:05 AM
i like the vocals especially when you mention stupidity because the vocals have a mocking sound to them.

The tune here is very infectious. I was humming along well before the end. Guitars sound realy nice.

Pro and Con &mdash 05/01/08 - 03:47:07 PM
The stripped down guitar, vocals, and harmonica are great. They make a nice simple performance. Everything fits well as far as levels go.

But the production hits my ears really oddly. The stereo channel splitting made me swing my head from side to side, listening to the song as it comes out of one speaker.

I didn't hear the other mix of this song, but I agree with Jim Bouchard. It may be less experimental and that could be good for such a minimal folk song style.
