Description:
This is a remix/ re-recording of Pharoah.
i resang the vocals, jason and i added more guitars, both acoustic and electric, got rid of the keyboardyness of it and heavied it up some....i tried to give it more umph....the original mix is great, but we are always striving for more... hope you enjoy!

Lyrics:
Pharaoh
Bear my skin, and my soul
Show me the secrets
Seal me in, dark and silent
I need no forgiveness
Light my way, father,
Show me the candle’s ebb
A tomb of gold waits
On a sea of forever
Lord of light, lord of darkness, guide my hand
Mighty Ra, lord Anubis Take me home
In this tomb, in this temple, I will sail
Upon the seas of the Nile to my home
Build me a temple to the sky
Fill it with the metal of golden light
Let no man breach their stone walls
Lest death and eternal curse be thine
The road to forever is long, and may take years
But I am pharaoh, the anointed Son of God
The sands of time are my allies
The measure of it as an instant
I am chosen,
I am eternal,
I am forever,
I am your father,
I am pharaoh
I am pharaoh

gents...your kindness has helped us to keep going forward... us metalheads dont get nearly the love as other genres....it is nice to have a selected few adoring admirers....

thanks be to all &mdash 01/20/08 - 09:57:43 PM
i tried to reply to you seperately, but was having trouble, so here goes;
feter, as always, NO, YOU ROCK...
Tom, thank you for stopping by. separating this one and keeping it from being cluttered took me about a month...
Len, always glad to get a listen from you...
Moses; thank you for taking a listen to our music. we try to keep it all along the same vein of heavy, loud, melodic metal.
Vic, always a pleasure. Jason and i work out these tunes via ichat and file share via the internet. having a couple thousand miles of separation sometimes has its limitations, but we try to be cohesive and stay true to our original vision.
this site is full of collabs, and most are awesome in thier scope and sound. we, on the other hand, consider ourselves an internet-based duo, or band, if you will. we write, arrange, perform, and record in concert, step by step. this is why there can be a gap between tunes. sometimes it takes a while to get all the dominoes lined up.... thanks to all of you who come and support us. we might not get as many hits as some of the other genres here at MJ's, but we have some really great listeners

Hell yeah, &mdash 01/21/08 - 12:03:12 AM
This certainly has a "heavy" to it. I love to hear the metal here - it takes me back a few years and I wonder why I don't write in this genre as much anymore. Maybe I should!
Great work! [ Reply to This ]
Yeh... &mdash 01/22/08 - 11:26:05 AM
...this one's more direct and has more space to roam about in.
The guits in the chorus are very powerful...and I like the clean bridge... [ Reply to This ]
Wow! &mdash 01/25/08 - 09:54:50 PM
Sounds pretty pro! I like the clean breakdown. Reminds me of 'One'. I mean that as a compliment. The vocals are spot on, in key, and good dynamics. The guitars during the heavy riffage need some separation to me, but I'm not a producer, so I don't know what to tell you to do. This should be getting some rotation somewhere, though. YIKES A MIGHTY.
yes it IS a beast of a song!
your sound is tight, threatening, and tremendous, or what we call "t cubed" in the bizness. ;)
allen - your vocal is purely delicious - i salute you and your songmates for this big sound.

You tricked me &mdash 02/06/08 - 10:20:43 AM
The intro tricked me a lot. Than this thing just launched into outer space. Strong vocals and guitars, brothers.

hmmmm &mdash 02/27/08 - 12:25:06 AM
have no idea what key i am in... all i know is i used to sing alot better than i do now. the years and lack of a set vocal practicing schedule have put me a bit below my old self vocally. i did this one in two takes. not counting the backup vocals. the last note, as i was fighting a cold took about three tries before i was happy with it. the final note in the song is a upper chest falsetto. a little louder and somewhat stronger than the typical throat falsetto, but a little harder to control. the rest of the song is in my natural range. i used to have four octaves, three in my range, and one in a falsetto range. now, i am happy singing how the song needs to be sung, and not worrying about how high and how much power goes into every note. thanks for taking the time to listen. this music is very important to me as well to the world. this form of internet writing and creating is the future of music, in my opinion. not merely colaborating, but a set group, with a set direction, keeping the music consistant even though seperated by many many miles.
