Description
Here is my first Logic mix, a program which is driving me insane, but I'm getting there. Had some new players over for this one, 1st timers, but still managed to get a decent song in three hours. Feedback is appreciated.

Rich Huston (Bass, Drums, Mix)
Darin Arbogast (Guitars)
Tanya Zimmerman (Vocals, Lyrics)

Lyrics
I am Escaping

The sky is haunting, a storm is hovering
The clouds are looming, the thunder is drawing near
My soul is stirring, my heart is longing
My mind is drifting, embracing fear

But paradise is waiting

Step into a time and place
Where no-one even knows my name
My mind steps into outer space
My heart begins to sway
I'm basking in the summer sun
Laughing as I come undone

Far away as I can run, I am escaping

The weight is pressing, my hope is fading
My burden's heavy, lulling me to sleep
Sorrow's bleeding, my faith is dying
My sight is blurring, misery is deep
But paradise is waiting

Where ya been
And what happened to 'Hoodie? You still going?

Anyway great to have something new from you. Great vocal on this, and a nice stereo panning mix - i like the fx on this. The bass is there, but feels like it needs a bit more bottom end. Other than that, I like the mix - welcome to logic!

GH rides again
Ghost Hoodie is still plodding along. First song of the year was posted today. Mostly been hampered by technical difficulties, travel and work.

I agree, the new vocalist is nice. We are going to do another song on Sunday.

"The bass is there, but feels like it needs a bit more bottom end." That seems to be my problem. If I mix to the reference monitors, there is no bass on a standard system but it booms on the monitors, if I mix to headphones then the bass is too strong. Frustrating

Great
song. Tanya has a really good voice. Really tight playing. The production sounds pretty good - there is a bit of distortion on the vocals in a few places (not not too serious) - Perhaps the bass could have a little bit more clarity or presence... Just a thought. Really enjoyed this one.

This!!
This is an amazing song! Sure is different from you guys and sound fantastic.

The cool thing about Logic once you get the hang of it, it opens so many options. sounds like your finding that out.

I
I think that the vocals are great. Really nicely recorded. I might suggest that you separate the lead and harmony vox a bit in the mix from each other via panning them wider away from each other in the mix. They both kind-of weave back and forth into each other throughout the song. Maybe the main vox center and the harms -15 degrees off center? Just an idea. The guitars and bass are gorgeous.

thanks for the advice
Great advice, definitely the kind I am looking for. I will try that when I remix the song this weekend.

Not bad
All four of us wrote it, in about two hours. We then recorded it in an hour. Tanya came up with the lyrics and vocals, the rest of us the music, but we all critiqued her as she sang (the peanut gallery). Thanks

Who wrote this
The four of us wrote it. I did the drums and bass, called out some of the chords and everyone filled in there parts. It took us about three hours to write and record the song, but definitely a group effort on this song.
