Always good to see your grumply-looking avatar on a comment. The picture may be grumply (yes, I invented a new word) but your comments are always most kind and always appreciated.

Yes-- &mdash 01/21/08 - 07:20:29 AM
God I love hearing people use the same loops I dabble through day after day in new and surprising ways. It really goes to show you how creative all of the macjammers are- yourself included. Loved to hear this stuff dirty and slow and heavy, never would have thought of them in this way. Sweet

I also get a charge out of hearing how others use familiar loops. I do my best to bend most of them as far as I can, especially with cutting them and changing the instrumentation of the midi loops. I'm glad you stopped by and commented

Couldn't include a sample of EVERYTHING that's on macJams but I tried to catch the feel of the place.

Very funky indeed &mdash 01/21/08 - 10:41:37 PM
Like the orchestration with the violins, when it kicks in there. It's fun to hear violins with the funkiness. You don't hear that often!

The whole piece has a lot of beat intense music with again extreme funky music to the hilt especially when it is highly orchestrated like that.

Nice going!

Tiler thank you &mdash 01/22/08 - 09:22:46 AM
The strings were a last minute addition. I had been playing around with this basic song and when MJ2 was announced, I decided that I should change the direction a little bit. I changed the horn part a bit and added the strings and made some other changes to bring it to where it fit my new theme. I'm really glad you stopped by especially since I know you are not a real fan of POUNDING DRUMS :)

excellent &mdash 01/22/08 - 08:34:58 AM
bill - you've done it again: gifted our ears with some very unique sound shapes. i love the never-let-up-intensity and drama of this piece. you manage to consistently choose elements that demand responsive movement from your audience. i like the heavy godzilla guitar flourishes. very cool horns! your Land of the Giants music always captures me one way or another. enjoyed your efforts, anne

Cool idea &mdash 01/23/08 - 02:02:36 PM
of trying to get a representation of what goes on here. It's unique but still strong. Sometimes these kinds of things can come across akward or too much of a stretch, but this is very well done!

Sounds like a good title for a song ... "we are amoebas ... I would sound something like David Saville's chipmonks updated.

I really 'preciate the comments.

It may not be THAT good &mdash 01/27/08 - 09:10:08 AM

From the first sound effect, I knew I was going to like it. I like the mix of grinding guitars and crazy effects.

Weird effects and grinding guitars. Gotta help any song, right?

Your visit and comment means a lot to me.

Very cool track &mdash 01/28/08 - 06:30:12 AM
The drums, bass and guitar give the whole track a great, pulsing driving force. I especially love the brass when it come in, though. This is quite unique in its mix of sounds. There's something 80's about it, but something also quite 21st century! Very cool. Nicely done. Peace.

Stuck in a time warp &mdash 01/28/08 - 02:42:05 PM
I guess you're right, there is something a bit 80s about this track ... but what the heck ... I like it and I'm glad you do to. I just wish I could write something that sounded more like the 30s. There were some great bands and some great sounds that came out of that era.
