Hi Michael.... &mdash 01/23/08 - 12:34:39 PM
Technically this mix was just an 'aside' or diversion. I bought this months Computer Music magazine and there were some neat free samples in kits. with NRG being the theme. This was the second of my creations, from kit 2, if you get the magazine. I have, in my first couple of years on here, made many tunes using loops, so this is just a return to the old days. I enjoy this sort of problem now and again.
My favourite loops are done by Cyclick, and this mix consists of his/their loops. Hopefully I'll goes through the rest of the free loops and come up with some more short ditties over the next few weeks, amongst my more usual stuff.
Take care.

...ROCKS!!!Very cool loop and full of fun. ... Not exactly a "soundscape." Now all you need is a rippin' e-guitar lead and you will be sailing. Your fascination with sound keeps opening new avenues of discovery and I am enjoying each and every creative work.
Peace.

Hi Paul... &mdash 01/23/08 - 12:39:42 PM
I just couldn't resist putting something together with these free magazine loop sets. I used to do this sort of experiment a lot in the early days but find less and less good loops to work with. This is technically a break from my more in depth stuff.
All the sounds and sequences were crisp and precise, so I made up a jigsaw of sound with the mixed up pieces. It didn't come out all that bad, or unpleasant. I'm glad you had a listen and left kind words.
Take care.

my favorite spot is ~ :32 that cool little dip down and back up again by something fuzzy sounds great. pitch wheel? the driving bottom in the mix is beautifully clear - it's a wonderful groove of energy! fun piece, paul. enjoyed it - anne [ Reply to This ]
Hi Anne.... &mdash 01/23/08 - 12:45:50 PM
The sequences are all loops from a magazine disk. I loved the individual energy and crispness so couldn't resist putting them all together in various ways until something sounded something like an old disco number and somewhat catchy at the same time.
I'm enjoying the work you are doing with the other artists. Your music is consistently great, and with these other musicians and the varied subject matter, your songs always have an 'edge' that's easy to listen along to.
Take care.

Well, this was out of left field! &mdash 01/23/08 - 06:34:19 AM
Very cool, hi-energy track - very different from what I expect when I visit your music, but then I guess that's what makes it so interesting to drop by! You are one versatile dude. Lots of fun. Early in the morning here, but I'm already moving! Thanks for sharing. Peace. [ Reply to This ]
Thanks Dajama.... &mdash 01/23/08 - 12:50:44 PM
This piece is just a diversion from my more frequent stuff. I will probably do a couple more, once I've listened to the loops that are left on the free magazine disk.
It is something different, but I did a lot of loop work in the first couple of years on MJ's, so this is just a trip for me down nostalgia lane.
Great to hear from you.
Take care.

Nice. &mdash 01/26/08 - 08:04:22 PM
I like this. This one had me bouncin' from the first sound. Also, sounds a tad C64-ish which, in my mind, is an extreme compliment. :) [ Reply to This ]
Hi DD... &mdash 01/31/08 - 02:19:29 PM
Those 'old' 8-bit sounds are always good to use, especially if the piece wouldn't sound outta place back in the 80's.
Thanks for having a listen a leaving your kind words.
Take care.
