Cool…icy and smooth, with a nice stereo mix going on .... this is pretty out there Tim, but wonderfully played by a real musician - not a cut n paste quantizer like me!. Love the icy sweeping sounds on this.

Enjoyable track. I really like the spontaneous feel to the guitar parts and the way you mixed in the percussion.

I can't think of anything to say right now except it's strange but still quite good. I guess your invite to space cadets applies here as I've been call that and a lot of other things in my life.
This has an odd syncopation to it that defies a real rhythm and yet it all seems to work. As I listened, I kept waiting for the vocal and lyrics to start, but they never did. At the end, I realized that the lyrics were hidden in the music. for the listener to discern.
Very nice piece of work Tim, thanks for sharing it.

this sort of thing is really where you shine! This could be late Oregon jamming with you, and that tenous rhythm thing really makes it for me. There's a lot of grace and a lot of joy here. I thoroughly enjoyed it! Thank you. Cool track Tim — 01/26/08 - 09:43:02 PM

Lyrics:
ice tunnel to spring
A mystical slow yet sure journey to spring
Thru the cold where winter rules
To the warmth I long for
when wind is a breeze
sweet floral essence fills the air
my bare feet in the morning dew
bring me there
to spring air

hey ego &mdash 01/28/08 - 09:30:11 PM
I started this with a drum loop i liked and added bass.
Most of the original bass line stayed and most of the original drum loop was dropped to give me some starting point.
Thanks for giving a listen!

Subtle Difference &mdash 01/27/08 - 07:13:00 PM
This one's really nice, and maybe a little more up to date.....maybe..... (the first version had that great, vintage ECM warmth). Still, it's a standout track no matter how it's mixed. This is very rare music.
Thanks again. [ Reply to This ]

cool. i can't believe you pulled out the real clav. there are some really interesting rhythms going on here. i love to listen to music and just wonder how it is that we all come from such a different approach, and how differently we all think. i would never think to come up with something like this. very cool. Hi Michael &mdash 01/28/08 - 09:44:41 PM
Thanks for your visit.
Your right about the way we all come up with stuff. I was looking for some inspiration when i plugged in a drum beat and picked up my bass. Then it all just happened.
Other times i have a complete idea of what i want and yet still another approach is using others tunes for a collab. or to jam on. There are really an infinite amount of ways to go here. Isn't this cool.
anyway
thanks for your support.
You are so creative and hard to keep up with my man.

what an unusual pic, never seen anything quite like it. Enjoy who the guitar fits in with the rhythm. Lots of cool jazz type sounds. Very modern jazz feel to me. Nice jangling of the percussion in places, love the nature type sounds as well. And the list goes on.
Thanks for sharing Tim! [ Reply to This ]
Hi Bill &mdash 02/04/08 - 11:40:54 PM
thanks for coming around to listen. Your visit means alot to me.
Your words about the jangling (great word) the percussion stuff is cool.
I always wanted a collection of percussion toys. I got it but its all caught up inside my digital keyboard...I think back to the old Miles davis percussion artist airto amongst others who just kind of filled some of the space with a ''jangle'' here and there.
With those jangles and the other sounds i chose, I keep wondering if there is too much of a distraction in the mix?
thanks again for your visit and comment

sweet and jazzy &mdash 02/02/08 - 10:52:22 AM
and funky and exotic. Some nice stubborn rhythms and close to experimental melodies. My cup of tea. Glad their are artist like you who dare to colour out of the lines... Bravo, mate.

What Walter said &mdash 03/01/08 - 08:50:40 AM
..and also that you have a signature sound from your guitar.
Playful bass, and creative drum figures. I was expecting some sweet Timothy vocals...:)
Cool style, relaxed feeling. It's cold here today... your music gave a suited sound track to my view from the window. [ Reply to This ]

Ice Tunnel To Spring &mdash 04/07/08 - 12:35:19 AM
Hey Timothy: Glad you told me about this today in your comment on "Angel Convention" - this is WONDERFUL. I didn't hear the first mix, but this one is exquisite, and I can see why you mentioned it specifically to me. You're extremely gifted - I wish I had this sort of creativity. Love the feel of this, and the idea of breaking into spring from an icy winter. Thanks - look forward to hearing more of your stuff! [ Reply to This ]
Great arrangement !!!!!!! Tim &mdash 07/06/08 - 01:12:15 PM
Is that you on the strat & bass also? I really dig this jazzy tune. Thanks for sharing. Gee the only loop I sensed was maybe percussion. You have a new fan.... [ Reply to This ]
