I made this song like several weeks ago and got really tired tweaking it to get it to sound right. i layered so many orchestral instruments that it made the pitch correction freak out. The song is about freaking out, so I suppose that makes sense. So here it is, in its raw state. The vocals have some emotion but I don't like a lot of the notes I hit, but I decided to leave it as it is. I'm not sure what I am going to do with this song. I really like it, and it may end up on a future project, even though I have not really finished my 2007 album. But I am still writing songs, in fact, I am sure I have enough to record another album. I just got out of a relationship that lasted almost two years. This song is not directly about my ex (I changed some things) and my ex is not a real clean freak, but more than me, that's for sure.

Oh yes, if you mix bleach and ammonia, it produces a lethal gas that can ruin your vocal chords and other bad stuff if you are near it long enough.

This is a really great arrangement. I love this epic kind of pop orchestral. I had planned to just put the song on in the background and then go on with what I was doing in another window, but you forced me to stop and listen to your catchy, wonderful song.

The songwriting and the arrangement are rock-solid and the vocals are definitely very good. I think you're absolutely right about leaving it as is to preserve the emotion. None of the notes stood out as wrong to me, so I wouldn't worry about that, at all.

One thing I would suggest, if you plan to revisit the mix, is to get the vocal more in front. There were times where it was very difficult to hear the vocal, probably because of the sheer number of instrument tracks hogging up the mid frequencies. I don't know if it's a matter of turning the volume up on the vox, but I would suspect that some judicious trimming of the mids in a few of the instrument tracks and maybe a dB boost in a couple of spots of the vocal track would go a long way to making some room for your voice to be heard.

It's a really great song and I'm glad I stopped to listen. Thanks!

Yeah,

In fact that was my scratch vocal track! Good comment about the mids, I will think about that. Those counter melodies are really fighting the voice.
