Nice &mdash 01/28/08 - 07:20:23 AM
I like this a lot. Ambience that refuses to stay in the background. Creepy, in a way, but ultimately more thoughtful than scary. Where does the marble's journey end? That is the question. Nice work. Peace.

There's my Cat's Eye! &mdash 01/28/08 - 10:20:42 AM
I used to play marbles with friends in elementary school, then bought "Marble Madness" for my kids... there's something about the colors and the almost perpetual motion of this music that captures my attention all the way through. This feels like a bit of Mungo is rubbing off on you? But wherever this rolled in from, it shows that you definitely have lots of marbles left! Crisp clean mixing, as usual, fun synth choices, oddball harmonies keep things off-kilter and rolling around in my brain.
ttfn,
Drakonis

Cat's Eyes and Mungo.... &mdash 01/29/08 - 02:32:23 PM
There is something fascinating about marbles. As a kid, I loved trying to figure out how they got all the swirls and colors inside!

Mungo influences...maybe? I've definitely had more fun exploring the experimental side of music over the past couple of years.

I give a lot of credit to Bryn, too...and to everyone who encourages me to keep doing 'the experimental stuff,' as it's quite a departure from my usual ethereal/classical/traditional approaches.

It's fun to paint with different-colored brushes....or play with different colored marbles, as the case may be!

Thanks, drak, for your comments :)

An interesting diversion.

very cool &mdash 01/28/08 - 03:03:12 PM
that is so cool. how did you do that? i was trying to do something similar the other day with a quarter and gave up on it. aside from the obvious cool factor of the sound, i love the whole feel of this and the wandering synth melody is so quirky. nice job.

What a great idea - &mdash 01/30/08 - 08:31:41 PM
like being inside your head and as you roll over from one side to the other and there's something loose in there. Simple sounds are so loaded. I loved this.

indeed &mdash 02/02/08 - 09:27:30 AM
as Teal'c would say. Bud said it best, although that would be my head with microphones attached to it. A very cool concept with wonderful ambient accompaniment.
